  1. Luxury! Back in the day I had some bike gloves with yellow armour on the back of the hands that I just used to write road numbers on in felt tip! I must admit that I now find satnavs invaluable - I can get to pretty much most places in the UK without one, but it's the last bit from arriving at desired town, to getting to desired street where it saves so much time - or indeed when setting out from a strange place... like riding around Barcelona for an hour and a half trying to find the road to Ripoll.....
  2. Tomtom from the car, chucked under the seat / pocket / tankbag set to transmit via bluetooth, used with a standard pair of earphones plugged into a small bluetooth receiver in jacket pocket.
  3. Hello and welcome fella CB250 *and* Norwich? Never mind, you can't be unlucky forever
  4. Or you could just say that it was a cartoon character by Andy Sparrow that appeared in Bike and BSH magazines back in the 80;s.
  5. Congratulations and well done to you lot
  6. Yep definitely let it go over Dave, it's only a guide and often the time elapsed between services is more important that mileage done - think about it logically, a plug or valve isn't going to implode as soon as the odometer clicks over onto 3700 - although I wouldn't be surprised if that get engineered in in the dim and distant future!
  7. Good evening and welcome to the forum.
  8. See that's what happens when you leave the towing mirrors off
  9. Chill your beans mate, we have all had slip ups at some time or another, at least you won't do it again for a while
  10. Nah, send her a photoshopped pic of his bike in the living room

  12. At your age it's not about riding in the rain. You need a bandanna and some fingerless gloves and you're all sorted mate
  13. A full day of sucking your teeth, shaking your head and rhythmically tutting?
  14. Apologies if it has been posted before, but I thought that this riders reaction were quite good... http://www.team-r4f.de/514/video-von-fliegender-bmw/ (Edited because I watched it again with the sound on!)
  15. Brilliant Quite true about different views though, for example my missus gets might annoyed that I rarely hoover the house, but I will gladly sweep/hoover/mop the garage floor. Clearly the answer to her moaning is to let me work on the bike in the living room
  16. They are indeed a good piece of kit, thanks for the heads up
  17. Well, pootled over to Mallory Park with small child this afternoon, mainly to see if the replacement engine was all OK[1], but to also have a fiddle with the rear shock settings ready for his race there later this month. Fortunately we were blessed with good weather, which is fortunate because he still hasn't bought any wets yet. Engine ran spot on and we were getting there with the shock settings - after the first session the rest of the afternoon was pretty much 3 laps then back in, add or remove another click from the compression or rebound, do another 3 laps and repeat over and over again. but the daft sod wore out both pairs of knee sliders, the second pair wearing down through the edge of the velcro and putting a small hole in his leathers. Fortunately we scraped together £20 (no cards accepted in the on site shop) for a new pair of sliders for the last 12 laps of the final session and kept the top edge held down with some good old gaffa tape. The good news is the suspension settings were now spot on The bad news is that the rock ape killed the sliders *and* his leathers *and* his right boot *and* managed to wear a hole in the side of the fairing (which to be fair is the cheapest fix of the lot.. A couple of loony fast boys there, the guy sporting no 12 is Luke Mossey who is doing well in the British Supersport Championship, plus Walker on his Primo Kawasaki, but I only managed to get over to the track for a couple of pics at the end of the last session because of fettling duty and I'm only using an old 'point n shoot' so the pics aint great. Roll on the 25th [1] The old engine was fine, but it had done 40,000 miles and 14 of the 16 valve clearances were out, which is £150 in shims from Kawasaki and he got offered an (allegedly) 8,000 mile engine for £100 but was unable to hear it run, so he figured it was worth a punt. Having took the lid and the sump off it was indeed very clean inside, and it fired up and selected gear OK, but you never really know until you have a good ride of it.
  18. Pretty much what has already been mentioned, plus the ebay app, paypal app, fast food map, fuelage for tracking mileage/costs, IP cam viewer, McDonalds finder, premier inn app, planet rock, tweetcaster (for twitter), Titanium backup (very good), wattpad for reading free ebooks, and the youtube app. Nowt in the way of music / games though. I occasionally add some new apps from time to time, but they tend to not last more than a couple of weeks.
  19. [quote="madwilly" dave can you model it for us when you get the first one lol [/quote] "I need an extra large please, because I have a huge forum name"
