Yep had a pair of the Oxtar TCS ones and still have a pair of the Non-TCS waterproof ones. Much more comfy for me than my old Sidis and Alpinestars ever were, but boots are a bit like lids, in that what suits one chap(ess) doesn't necessarily suit the next. I think that at one point they were the only CE approved boot in the UK. I crash tested the waterproof ones and they stood up pretty well considering. Like them enough that a new pair of TCX ones will be got at some point over winter.

I guess you are trying to take them directly from the camera? I would suggest *not* using any camera-style software cum picture manager, just open your computer's file manager (Windows-Windows Explorer, Linux-Nautilus etc.) navigate to the cameras memory card, select all the pics, edit/copy[1] or right-click/copy, navigate back to your hard drive, create a new directory[2] (say c:\My Documents\Photos\Pix from this bloody camera) and paste the copied files into that directory. If you then wish to play with the pics with photoshop/Gimp/whatever, open them from the new directory rather than edit while on the cameras memory card and it will be much quicker this way. Again, if you are using photobucket etc. upload the relevant pics from your new directory. [1] You could also use 'cut' but I tend to go for copy until I'm sure that they have transferred OK, then just block delete the memory card. [2] or 'folder' in Windows-speak.

It's something that I've wanted to get a little bit into for ages - I try and do a bit with me old point n shoot, but it struggles at gigs due the the piddly CMOS sensor, and sports aren't great without a long lens. I *will* get a low end DSLR at some point with a couple of lenses, but it's quite a way down the list at the mo'.

Yeah the boy has done well As has everyone that has helped out As I'm all new and everything, I don't know what led to this forum being set up in the first place, but it does seem like a comfy place. Probably have 1000 users after 1 year - that is some good going. Now then, a tenner for the first pic of Dave or Stu with a perm

Not really done anything epic, just a few runs around the more civilised parts of Europe, longest one was about 4500 miles [1] but the nearest I got to dodgy East European places was Vienna, so I doubt that there would be much relevant information that I could convey. Have a mooch on over at www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/ for plenty of info and tips, or even www.advrider.com may have something useful. Sounds like a great trip, enjoy [1] But about 1000 was on ferries
