Praise God, thanks for sharing so we can rejoice with you.
  5. I believe the Lord would have me go pray with someone who just retired a year ago and now has cancer and not doing well at all. I would like to pray with him but the flesh is weak and I have put this off. There doesn't seem time to put it off much longer now though. He is not a believer but we've had some good talks in the past. I want to share with him the hope of Jesus who loves him and wants to welcome him with open arms. He is in fear. Please join me in prayer to speak the words of Jesus to him. Thanks, Joy
  6. Oh Debb, thank you for sharing. Out of ashes comes beauty. Our Lord is so wonderful. He is so faithful! Praise God! Joy
  7. You know, what I have experienced is that living isn't up to me. God will take us through, if we are willing or not! Didn't he knock Paul off the donkey? Was Paul willing or seeking. I guess you could say yes because he sure was passionate FOR God. But he had no clue of the truth. He thought it was through the law. I'm not meaning to pick on you my dear, it is just that what I have found is that God doesn't give US strength. That would still mean we are separated from Christ. What the truth is, is that HE IS THE STRENGTH. We have none. He doesn't give it to us, it is HIM. It is ALL Jesus. Just focus on HIM, not on his gifts and what he gives. Just Jesus, and all will be well no matter what comes to your life. This is the truth Paul came to through his struggles and my prayer for you. Blessings, Joy
  8. Raymond, dear brother, we pray for God's will to be done in your life, as Jesus prayed at the cross. Rest in Jesus, he will take you through! your sister, Joy
  9. We've been through these tough times too, the Lord will provide a way. Bless you. Cholette has shared some precious words with you. The Lord always does seem to bring those in our life for a reason. I was interested that you said you are "trying to die to self". I know what you mean. We did that for many years but you know what? Even Jesus had to be taken, by the Father, to the cross. We can not take ourselves there, no matter what you have heard or read about this. Jesus asked the Father if there was any other way out. But the Father took him through this, just as Jesus is doing for you. Do you see that your own situation is part of this death? The circumstances in our life, just as Jesus had in his own, are how we experience this death. The flesh thinks way to much of itself to die. It will be a dead end to try to do this. Let the Father take you through. He WILL. It isn't fun or easy, even Jesus showed us this. But as Jesus lived, so do we. Jesus did nothing of Himself. He always turned to the Father. This is our "example". This is my prayer for you. In every circumstance he will take you through. Blessings to you, Joy
  10. thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Praise God. Thanks for sharing his goodness to you. It helps in times of trouble to know that God really does care about ALL these things.
  12. Thank you for sharing on here. I'm 53 this year and my daughter is 30 soon too. It brings to reality what you shared. I know she would fall apart if the Lord took me this year too. We never know the number of days of life we get to live here. It's a tough age to lose a parent...I've lost both and age makes no difference. I think the thing to remember overall is that God doesn't look at our performance. He loves you just as you are. He knows your personality, your every hair on your head. We look at our actions and judge them by those days when all seemed so good between us and God. God doesn't look at our actions, as has been said, he paid the price. We are harder on ourselves than God is on us. I'm not excusing actions, but God's love and blood has it all covered. Our part is just to experience Jesus. It isn't complicated. Just talk to him, keep coming back...but you don't need to rededicate. You are already HIS!! Would you ever not be your own father's daughter no matter what action you took? Of course not. Our Father in Heaven, who dwells in you, also will never reject you. Just keep talking to him, and yes, goodness girl, it's only a few days...grieving can take a full year...and more for some. joy
  13. In just reading this with you Christiana, I was thinking how wonderful that God does not exist in time! He knew you would be praying! It is all so amazing. Well, I've never been close to what this lady is going through, ditte, but let her know many of us have prayed for the presence of the Lord to take her through this. Joy
  14. We will pray for Jamaica with you.
  15. I had a dream, I think. I was just waking up and didn't think I was asleep so how this came to me I don't know. In this flash, I saw a (muted) snake strike my 4 year old grandson's neck. Please pray for him. I don't normally think this way and thought it may have been just my mind, but after reading things on here I thought I better ask for prayer. http://www.heartsongministry.com/dream_symbols_snakes.html Thanks, Joy
  16. Monique, my heart goes out to you as I've been in this situation, only for years, not months! But God is faithful and brought both of us through. The purpose of this is often seen in looking back on life, not always in the moment of difficulties. When I look back on my own life, I am so thankful for the trials and hard times we went through. I would not have half the relationship I have with Jesus if it were not for those days. I know it is hard, if not impossible in the moment to thank God for the difficulties, but you will see this is for a purpose. I don't know your husband but mine saw through religion too well. He could not keep up with playing the games. Just love him and we will pray with you. Even this has a purpose for you, not just him! The Lord IS at work. He wants hearts that are pure, not full of religion and he has his ways of getting rid of all of that. Blessings, Joy
