I came back from MV just now. Saw Buzz, Woody & Rex. Expected the price to be high because of royalties. But its cheaper than CARS stuff. But still more expensive than color shifter & speed machines. Really a collectors kind of thing. Almost every toy dep is bombarded with Toy Story stuff. Some of the toys are really cool. I really like Mr Potato & Mrs Potato. I spotted them at TRU @ RM44.90. Also Spud Lightyear! hahaha. Whats nice is the many details on the cars. But strangely i though they would make the body plastic and the chassis metal, as there are track sets being sold alongside them too. Seems like red baron & buzz mini figure is exclusive to a track set only. There is even a robot 2 car launcher and a mega track set with interactive characters. Dunno la. If it was selling for RM9.90 maybe it would be a keeper. Wait for them to be discontinued la like this.

wow, very well said netmatrix, exactly like how I've been growing up, that explanation right is right on the money, those cars with high historic value are usually iconic cars, and have loyal following. I like cars by liking japanese cars first, but then I read Motor Trend and Road & Track (awesome magazine ever) and my whole thinking of cars change, because I was exposed to this whole different level of how to appreciate a car, it was so mind blowing to read the history, how it came out from concept to production, and the styling is way...way different, the lines are different, the curves, the stance the look is different, only then I realize, continental cars have this special thing, a unique thing call CHARACTER, that's what makes me like cars even more....! Yeah i think i got over the Japanese hype already. Sure the GTR, the LFA is all tech and stick like roller coaster. But sometimes, you want something at the edge and not so controlled. Its like you either want to be seeing technical drawings of Petronas twin towers or you look at Picasso's art. I dunno la. Actually the collecting have slowed down compared to getting tons of stuff just to get tons of stuff. Nowdays its hidden quality.

I think its pointless to vote. Sure the statistic is 7E now. But few months later or next year could be any department store. For big big one go places its definitely Jusco. Then Carrefour. Else you stride around town ghosting every 7E for cars. TRU is so so only. Less to be said about Metro, Park & Ise. The really rare places are bookstores.

When i was a kid, these things was meant for destruction. We burn them, crash and race them. Then it was junked. And the cycle starts again. Then when i grew up, i started to like cars. But i could not afford any of them. The first one i got was a Porsche 928 by Majorette that cost RM3.50. Then there was the Ford flareside F150 truck. And then some here and there i got from a sundry shop nearby. This was raced and crashed, but not burned. I still have the F150 that i'm thinking to fix. Then in 2006, i stumbled in LYP forums where most of the guys here are from. Upon reading and seeing the pictures, i ventured out to get them. I still remember the first time bought it was in Jusco. RM2.90 per car. I shifted 16 units in 1 day. Then the buying got more and more and more. It was a lifeless affair really. Then 1 day it snapped that i really liked cars!!! Whats with the many AutoCars, Top Gears, Hot Rods, EuroTuner, Mustangs, Asian auto and the many magazines i read religiously. I still have the 1994 daily express guide to new cars magazine! although its pretty trashed. And then those mag reading days are somewhat traded with car history books. I do not know why looking at Japanese tuning mags does not impress me as reading a crash and brash Top gear. I mean sure, those shiny tech tuning kits in Japanese mags, like Tengoku, Option and the many jap mags are impressive. But its weighted down by technicalities, that it does not hold historic value. Cars in Europe and America seems attractive to me. Look beyond the high cc engines and the people who make it, the car holds value not in cash value, but historic value. I'm sure the Japanese people are trying very very hard to do that. Nowdays i'm so happy i can find magazines & books that i could attach to the HW cars i have. That is somewhat serious for me as its special that i could finally find the puzzle pieces of relation between my love for reading car stuff and collecting die cast cars. Is that serious? The only serious thing i saw in my collecting is the ever increasing price. Too serious a problem for collecting more. hahaha.

Yes its arguable that you only use half the amount to make a car much much more faster than the Lotus NEO. The supporters would only say that your car is still an old car. Until you whup their butt time and time again. hahaha. Then again look further. There is no GTi version of NEO yet. Based on history Satria was offered with 1.3 only. And then the super souped up Gti version. Now that was fast until they release an R3 version which is better everywhere. Now fast forward, we have a NEO. Then a R3 kit. Then a CPS. Then a NEO LOTUS. Now basically the buyers of supposedly fast and great NEO would be the CPS. Basically the NEO actually screws Proton buyers. Neo isn't the fastest offered. Neo R3 isn't the top of the line. There isn't a Gti model too. If there is, it cannot be faster than the Lotus one, or the 25 owners of the Neo lotus is screwed. hahaha. Then you can see Proton scrambling upgrade offers for the Neo Lotus free or discounted Gti mods to make it go faster. hahahaha. I dunno la. I still think its a screwed product. I'm very sure my neighbour who owns the CPS is going to color his to the Lotus scheme. He already bought a similar looking rim.

new tru i went no bessie...need to go visit the old tru.... postage i dunno...but this item not that heavy rite?or it is heavy? I do not know how heavy is bessie. But like i said, i read it was all plastic and no metal parts i used. Maybe the new one has metal? I dunno la. Well judging from the wave over in UK, its exactly the same as in M'sia. In fact judging from release, we seem to get CARS much more faster than USA!

Good price i guess. But mind you there are some DIY'ed ones that look like the original as reported by some CARS collectors sites. I do not know how to spot them as the car does not have any tampos. But i think maybe the drilled rivet points are a clue. A lot of those on ebay are split DVD sets. They part the rescue squad mater and gold mcqueen. More money to be make i guess. But maybe buy a cheapest one and custom maybe better. Sparkling silver over candy yellow anyone?
