    March Chat Part 7

Hi BG. Some people want to adopt Socks, they've been home-checked and declared suitable, and have a nice home and garden in a rural area about 10 miles away from here. The lady from the rehoming charity is coming to collect him on Thursday afternoon, and then we'll see if it works out (if it doesn't he's coming back here) Byeeee Bee.

Looking at the map on the south eastern site, the answer's no, they're putting on a replacement bus service to and from T Wells - which would probably at an hour or so to his journey...and, T Wells is normally a massive scrum to board anyway, so can you imagine?!!? Oh and on top of that, when they do put replacement buses on between us and TW, they never coordinate the times to work with the times of the trains (bet that shocks you eh? ) I have news of Socks as well btw!

@Bee IMOM's train comes from Hastings, it looks as though it wont be running at all before or after Tunbridge Wells, so he wont be getting any service at all ... I wonder if he can get any refund at all on his season ticket?

LOL. Dennis has caught mice in the past - outside though. Socks probably would, he's lean and very swift. This one must've come in at night when Socks isn't in the kitchen, and Dennis is probably well in the land of nod. I've checked all the cupboards and worktops (counter tops) no evidence it's been down at a lower level (thank goodness) That is some SERIOUS coffee wastage (and work) going on there Frannie. Defintely not overnight! Yes, during peak morning time he can get two trains an hour up to London, but only one an hour home, or a half hour round trip for me to collect him from the next station along the line (which really wouldn't be worth while would it!) @ Bee - it's only this year, it seems to be one thing after another !

We noticed some white deposits on the worktop - crumbled plastic I think. I got up the big steps above the kitchen wall cabinets, and saw the pipe work for the extractor was loose, not actually fitting into the hole in the outside wall. It must be a mouse who's come in through the vent and chewed a hole in the housing that joins the ducting to the fitting in the wall - so now that all needs replacing - meanwhile the hole's all bunged up with crumpled shiny paper as a temporary measure (best I could do)

Is that your housework schedule Frannie? slosh and mop? Thanks for the info Bee, I'll have to double check as we're a couple of stops further than T Wells and there's only usually one train an hour stops here on his way home! Will tell about the mouse situation.

You might joke Frannie - have I told you about the kitchen extractor fan being attacked by a mouse? (I kid you not!!!) Hiya Bee, how's your day?

OK I'll look back later on.
  11. I really don't like the new store layout with different departments, easy to miss new things, and so much clicking to do - that's what PS seem to do these days, get us clicking, clicking and clicking. Bogie told me yesterday that in this week last year, there were something like 40 new items, compared to the week this year, when there are something like 134!!!

Raining here, I'm shattered. Woke just before 3am with an awful commotion in the garden, and Socks was outside. Think a strange cat had visited and Socks was fighting for his patch! We came down and got him in eventually, he's fine, not a scratch on him. Couldn't sleep after that for hours, so now I feel a wreck (and am doing my usual morning sneezeathon!) Got your message Kijo so pleased you have some relief.

Bye Army. I have to go and finish cooking dinner too, steak, baked potato and exploding ratatouille! Leo/Boogs, don't worry, there's the G/R to call on too.

Lovely! My OH makes the best tea and I'd rather have that than a bouquet any day! Boogs, don't be sorry - we all understand, and it does you good to vent once in a while

I have to go and do a bit to our dinner, while I'm away, ponder on our British 'Summertime'!!! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1261336/British-Summer-Time-Forget-prepare-ANOTHER-wintry-blast-snow-freezing-conditions-return.html

This is as heavy as le Crueset Wish, you can't tell the difference. I'm not a le Crueset fan though, not like OH. That said, usually you only have to buy them once, and when ED moved into her flat, we got her a casserole as a moving in present. Army, will go back to the cookshop with the lid, otherwise, replacement knobs are a fiver (£5) - the fact they're available... Frannie 400/450 is the conversion. (((BOOGIE))) come here xxx

That's awful, it says that shouldn't happen on the link. Hi Leo, I know, I wouldn't have put it in the oven if it wasn't resistant, or, supposedly resistant! BG, most of our casseroles are le Crueset, this is virtually the same (OH really does have a 'thing' about this stuff, we have 2 le Crueset frying pans and 4 of their large casserole dishes; this buffet/shallow casserole is the first one we bought of that shape)

OK - the 'situation; OH is a cooking equipment freak and has been nagging for months for a Chasseur Buffet Casserole http://www.amazon.co.uk/Chasseur-3-0ltr-Cream-Serving-Casserole/dp/B0000C8RFT/ref=tag_tdp_sv_edpp_i I just used it for the first time, the oven is no more than 200C and the knob on the lid shattered - kitchen smells of burning, but luckily the food's ok because it's covered.

Can't help with a Catfish sorry. Army, I'm flustered, wait up while I type it next post. How are you? Wish - if you knew!
