  1. Few pictures of some of the older bikes (and some cars. It includes an AC Cobra and an E-type so thought I could get away with it), that were at Saltburn on Sunday. Also a few pics of some of the bikes lined up in the parking area. Given the number of pictures I've put them on photobucket, link is below: Saltburn Hill Climb I'm sure the more "thoroughbred" bikers will recognise a lot of the bikes. I know some by reputation, my Dad knew a lot of them. In fact I'm sure Daves first bikes was in there, an old BSA
  2. Sorry I missed this one, looks like it was good fun Given the changing weather, can't see me getting down there on my bike before next season Still there's the Christmas get together to look forward to Hope to see you all there Must have been a good day, Dave's bike has got dirt on it and that blue Rizla bandit was on the road I'm making no comment about Rose until after I've met her
  3. This sounds like it's taking shape already Be nice to get some of the southerners up into some proper country rather than all that flat stuff they keep riding If you need a hand let me know
  4. YES ! It's only cause I'm young and stupid. But I'm not that young anymore am I .
  5. This years meet at Nottingham wasn't too bad, apart from the n rain! It was about 130m for me, so distance was okay. And in fairness, couldn't fault the place, good find Dave I'm more than happy to head back to Nottingham, given the wash out that occured, and have a chance to ride some of the roads. Obviously Yorks or the Lakes is a lot closer and again somewhere I've never ridden. For somewhere central I think you'd struggle to beat the water sport centre. Location, facilities and a guy who doesn't mind bikes Damn near perfect
  6. Have fun one and all. I'll think of you as I'm riding around the Yorkshire Moors and local area tomorrow. Oh, Dave, can you have a sandwich for me Ride safe and I await the pics
  7. Do you want me to drop the text in here? Or pm me your e-mail address and I'll mail you the letter I've typed (in Word) and you can change what you need and send it out.
  8. Had forgotten all about this. Will speak to the sons and ask if they've done this yet. Thanks for the reminder
  9. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170686844004?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Yup. They'll do the job
  10. Looking good And looks like good progress so far. Congrats
  11. Must admit, I never relaised you could claim it! Kids have a few years worth so may get a reasonable lumper from it. Fingers crossed.
  12. Given the amount of "tinkering" about that goes on, I'm assuming that some of the guys (or gals) on here may be involved in working in the motor trade as mechanics. If there are any that do then they may already be aware of this but I'll mention it anyway. The eldest son mentioned it to me and I have spoken to the Tax Office about it and it is real. If you work in the motor trade as a mechanic and have bought all your own tools for use at work, then you are entitled to claim tax relief against the expenditure. I've drafted out a basic letter for the two sons so if anyone is interested, then let me know and I'll put the text of the letter in here. It can then be copied onto a simple word document. You don't need any copy invoices or such to make the initial claim, but I would guess that if the Tax Office choose to investigate you'll need something, so best be sure of the figures you put in.
  13. Seat looks good Dave. For £60 may have to find an excuse to head down and get mine recovered. Like it
  14. Got my fingers crossed for you lads and the weekend. I'll be heading to a childrens hospice with a local bike club on Saturday. Meet the kids, show the bikes etc. chance to enhance our reputation Hopefully the weather holds and you all can enjoy the ride out and I'll enjoy the visit to see the kids etc.
  15. Very nice . Does it achieve and maintain the speed limit? Thought it might
  16. Would take a ride with you Dave, but it's a bit far Still, no need to wait for anyone your right Mike , leaving in a bit Good luck with it, hope it all goes as it should. Off to work now so will catch you later on. Ride safe
  17. Good to hear Had some bad gusts here, as I said lost the fence and it's torn the netting on the trampoline the girlfriend has in the garden (before people ask, yes it is interesting ). But fortunately all minor stuff. Good luck with the seat this morning
  18. Thanks Dave. As I said will probably be next year so will be in touch nearer the time. Cheers
  19. More of a check that everyone is okay, given the recent spate of strong winds we've had (and I don't mean a spate of bean eating!?! ). The high winds have caused a few deaths, the guy in his car and the Butterwick Hospice volunteer. Personally I've just lost the fence on the old house, snapped every post along a 15m length of fence (it was gapped). Apart from that everyone is okay.
  20. Always something mate. Sounds like you've already got in booked in being done? If not, let me know as both sons are mechanics, so may be able to save you a little bit of £££s. Both work in Stockton. If it's already in, let me know next time and I'll have a chat with them
  21. Would take a ride with you Dave, but it's a bit far Still, no need to wait for anyone
  22. Nice looking bike Will wait for the photos to see what you do. Have to agree, the 12 has a lot more punch than the 6. First time I took my 12 on a test ride opened her up on a slip road, having got straight of a 6, and watched as the front come up and I wheelied onto a major A road doing close on 90. Might have looked impressive, but I was Enjoy the difference
