  1. Postman just turned up. 2 Yoshi Tri-Oval can's for a Hayabusa, with baffles, with link pipes. Couple of dents, not mint but will clean up. Might cut them down to make "shorty's) Bought off another ASF member. Another ASF guy has a Busa with a GSXR-K6 tail, bodywork, seat, cowl, lights, subframe and adapter plates. He's taking it off next week to put a KTM tail on, fingers crossed the K6 parts are heading my way...
  2. Stue, what you need is a Gpx500, The European Superbike that was the original Ninja and will pull away from anything on the road !!!!! http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/1997-kawasaki-gpx-500s/1002554347 "one of the first European super bikes produced and gave rise to the modern day Kawasaki Ninja range" "Very fast bike and will pull clean away from anything on the road without trouble from a standing start"
  3. Who thought that if you were a fat bloke with a fat Mrs, or if you were a skinny solo rider you wouldnt ever need to adjust the front suspension ? Very poor idea. Awful linked brakes ? Poor ground clearance ? All the one's here have spacers fitted to make them useable)
  4. On a bike? None. More cost, more weight, more complication, It's just a "look what I can do" like the Seppo's with their huge rear tyres. None of the serious big horsepower bikes use two turbo's.
  5. Only owned one cossak, a 175. It made my Harley seem real good !
  6. I know someone... who sent some scrap CB250 brake calipers oversea's, The guy at the other end who sells billet 6-pots dropped them in the bin and sent the new expensive Billet 6-pots back in the same packageing with the original delivery note and labeled it "re-conditioned/modified calipers supplied" !
  7. Same make and same shop my clocks came from. Not the cheapest stuff around but....
  8. If your into this sort of thing, here one they built out here a while back.
  9. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6n1EtkXL88&feature=player_embedded#!
  10. ...almost 2" shorter than a B-King ? Not that the extra wheelbase is noticeable !
  11. They're cheaper than that in the US. Not sure how the UK gets on with ordering from the US ? Here in AU when we order from oversea's we dont pay your VAT and there's no import tax this end under $1000AU. If I get Renthals (for example) sent out to AU using cheap (slower) postage, they cost me less than if I walk into the shop in the UK.
  12. Gets interesting 2 minutes in.....
  13. Out here they'd just chop 2 pots of the end of a Roll Royce Merlin (4500-5000cc should be enough?) Then build a frame around it later. ..then decide maybe its not mad enough, and put a supercharger on it....
  14. I'd imagine a GS550 would be a lot easier to fit in that frame than a Rover 3.5 V8 ?
  15. Underseat exhaust doesnt really suit that look, but it thats the way your going to go, why wouldnt you use an arm from a bike WITH an underseat exhaust so you didnt have to run it around the outside. Put it up through the arm like most do.
  16. Mileage doesnt fuss me. Bought a Busa with a genuine 25,000 miles (off a mate) and it felt quite tired and worn. Sold a Mk1 SV650 with 65,000 miles that was sweet as could be. Everyone assumes big bikes carry their age better but thats not always the case. The mileage is interesting when buying a bike but I dont let it cloud my judgement. Buy a bike for what it is, what it does, and the condition its in.
  17. Interesting. Funny mix of styles. GS550 engine ? Wouldnt be my choice of motor. There are a couple of featherbed Suzuki's that use the later oil cooled Bandit/GSXR engine. Alrthough you have an oilcooler its still has fin's on the motor and doesnt look all bad (and go's hell of a lot better)
  18. As my grandmother would have said.... "Brass knocker on a shit house door"
  19. One funny one I had, I was putting a few bids in on Ebay, Very low bids, but enough to get rid of the timewasting $10 bidders, (a week before Xmas which I thought might put a few off?) and I bid on a 1200 Bandit. Out in the sticks, Country town, hours from anywhere. One pic taken from a distance and a discription that said "Dont Mess me about" My bid was low enough that even in piss poor condition id be happy. I only bloody won it. Seller was a bit unhappy but offered to deliver it for $50. When he turned up I crapped myself. Im 6-foot and he towered over me, All gold and tattoo's. HUGE F#CKIN BLOKE! ...and when he turned around he had a VERY well known Outlaw clubs back patches. I know several serious patch club members but this guy was something else!! I joked "if i dont like it how do I tell you to take it back"... He was OK. Told me to do a government vehicle check, let me have a good test ride and photo copied his licence. Bike turned out OK, I still dont know how he came by it! Wouldnt take cash, had to be bank transfer to some womans bank account. When he'd gone we googled his name. Illegal firearms. Attempted wounding of a police officer. Drug offences. etc. etc. etc. Fortunatly I was soon to move house.
  20. If I'm buying brand new then obviously I'll be off to a shop but for 2nd hand I find there mark up is way to high and their warrantee's are very over rated.
