We have just booked flights to visit Malaysia again in August, will be up north most of the time, mainly Panang, and since that is sooooo close to the Mattel factory, does anyone know if there are any good hunting grounds for loose cars near there........ rubber wheel donors I need rubber wheel donors . I also convinced my wife that we should have a couple of days in KL on the way home....... just GOT to get up on the skywalk this time .... surely they can't be out of tickets EVERY time we go there We leave KL late on Sunday 22 August, so I hope some of you are going to be at Amcorp that day I'm already looking forward to this holiday

March 2010 was "Drag-strip" month for the "Battle of the Kustomizers" comp at "The Corner". I entered this Pass'n Gasser in the "Mild" category, and I WON..... unfortunately there were only 2 entries in "Mild", but I still think it was a good win since it got 90% of the votes. This is the first time I have created my own original decals, trying to capture the look of the '60s-'70s gassers and their crazy paint styles such as lace masking and fish scales, the graphics were done in Photoshop and printed on clear waterslide decal paper. Casting - HW Pass'n Gasser Paint - Plain white with decals and foil applied, then clearcoated. Chassis, interior, engine, tail lights and chute hand painted with foil accents, grille black washed. Wheels - Maisto Custom Shop/Jada I am happy with how the decals turned out, so I have added decals to my kuztomizing techniques. Thanks for looking.

My interest in cars is pretty much limited to Pre '73 - chrome bumpers and no polution gear, but there are always exceptions...... one of them is the 300C. Bought a couple of them and started experimenting with some homemade flame stencils. Was a little disappointed when I took this one out of the packet...the body is PLASTIC!... shame on you Hotwheels! Thanks for looking

I just love the '63 - '65 Buick Rivieras, they epitomize the Buick catch phrase "Fast - with Class"..... Bill Mitchell really nailed this one! The Maisto G-Rods casting came with a nice set of wheels, so all I had to do was paint it a white base covered in a wicked orange/gold flake nail polish and candy purple edgeing and foil the trim. This thing just looks crazy in the sunshine, and brought to mind the title of one of Tom Wolfs books.... "The Kandy-Kolored Tangerine-Flake Streamline Baby" Hope you like it as much as I do. Thanks for looking.

The worn out paint is done by spraying it 3-4 layers of different coloured paint, the bottom coat black, then sand it with fine "wet" sandpaper - I use 1200 grit, and as you sand through the different layers it gives you the worn out paint look. Then I use dark brown and orange paint to add the rust, and lastly I use colour washes and dry-brushing to "dirty it up".... the guys doing military modelling have many clever ways of getting dirty and worn effects for their models and much can be learned form them.
