  1. If you tax online you get five days' grace while it's in the post during which time you won't get a Failure to Display ticket. Not the same as actually not taxing it though, closed Post Office, Bank holiday or no.
  2. So, you can't apply online, and the Post Office will be closed. I'd say you're on dodgy ground using a bike on the basis that you couldn't tax it. Fact is it will not be taxed and I'd suggest you don't use it. It's a jobsworth's beanfest waiting to happen and somewhere like the Shakedown will be well attended by your friends and mine.
  3. Bloke's been round tonight with his money, done the paperwork, he's fetching the bike tomorrow afternoon. Have PM'd the guy about that Falco but it's looking to be a bit of a dead end PS literally just had PM-still for sale
  4. ...... My mate Derek has been saying he wants my Bandit but another fella has been plaguing my eyes out about it. Called & texted Derek for a week without reply so finally took a deposit off the other guy tonight. Feel a bit bad but I'm really desperate to get things moving. He's taken it as seen without MOT so minimum work for me, just going to replace rear caliper seals for him. So, 14 years of ownership will soon be over. Need to get rid of that ZZR so I can look around for a Falco.
  5. ok m8 , well I have booked a couple of nights , so will go exploring Actually Dave if you want a bit more peace (not really biking territory mind) you're not so far from the Gower peninsula. Very pretty as is most of the Pembrokeshire coast. I'm on the Gower for a wedding April 25th, hopefully get a walk in before I come home.
  6. A470 straight to Brecon, A40 until you turn left onto A4069, left at Brynamman until you hit the A4067 back to Brecon. I'd go straight on to Abergavenny for a bit to eat, maybe back along Heads of the Valleys road to Neath.
  7. Brecon Beacons Dave. That's an easy one.
  8. So long as your middle finger's long enough to be seen it don't matter too much
  9. Hi Dave, just having a brew before I scoot off to Northants on a job. Work tomorrow too by the look of it. Enjoy your weekend dude.
  10. Yes mate. It was a good pace too. Most of them had big trailie type shit like Explorers, Multistradas and suchlike. A fair few VFR 1200s too. There were maybe half a dozen VFR800s and a 636 Kawasaki keeping up the tiddler content no prob keeping up but I've never had the Vtec chiming in so much. Gearbox feels nice with that Silkolene oil in BTW.
  11. Enjoyed it, but what a start! Four degrees and less than 100m visibility on the way to Melton The leader chose a good route with plenty of scope for speed but not much danger of getting lost/split up. A couple stacked a VFR12 after 20 miles but they were both upright afterwards so I guess you have to say good enough. I left after the lunch break at Foxton Locks to do a bit of work up at the unit. I'll post a link to photos & vids if any pop up. Did just under 200 miles.
  12. Right, I'm up, my neck ls better, so I'm offski. Dave, I'll go via Melton Mowbray so if you want to meet I'd suggest the stretch of road after the island near Oakham along the A606, just before Rutland Water. If you're not bothered no probs, I'll hang around a few minutes then go. you can always catch me at the meet. Peterborough services on the A1.
  13. Nice one mate Shouldn't that be "God bless you" I'd like to come on this Dave but Saturday is generally a work day, so I guess it's unlikely.
  14. Just come in from work dude. I'd like to go although I ought to go up to work, lot of setting up to do. I'm more concerned with my manky neck though TBH. I suspect it might revolve on if I can get up, not forgetting we go onto BST tonight.
  15. Was it a Scott Squirrel she was getting done?
  16. New battery, started straightaway. Rode the bike back home & checked input voltage from R/R, looks fine at around 14.2-14.5 volts. Now hooked onto the new Optimate so hopefully there's an end to it.
  17. TBH I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the charger, I just don't think it's as clever as Optimate like to tell us. It's worth persevering though, sometimes it takes several charge cycles to wake up a battery.
  18. Yes, interestingly enough I charged the Speedy with my old Optimate. I might just ring CMC and get their views on it.
  19. Tried charging the Bandit battery too, and it don't seem too keen. But again, this Optimate reckons it's hunky dory. Speed Triple started though
  20. Well, I got an Optimate 4 today so I can run a charger on both my main bikes. Hooked it onto my VFR battery and after charging cycle it reported that the battery was 80-100%. Tried starting my Bandit with it and it's as flat as a witch's tit. Need to get a new battery which my local dealer in Mansfield should have in on Tuesday, but it doesn't say much for Optimate if it seemingly can't spot a pretty goosed battery.
  21. Ask her to cook you some alphabet spaghetti to fill in the gaps in your posts.
  22. Nae bother mate, I was thinking of going to Posh on the Melton road past Rutland Water. Wouldn't be too hard to arrange a meet.
