New exhaust can

Just floating this atm, but I'm hoping to have enough time this Sunday for a quick spin up the Peaks on my Honda. Prob have the wife with me so steady pace, was thinking of trying the Village Green in Eyam. Not short of a few decent roads around it and I liked the look of it when I arrived there a few weeks ago too late for brekkie thanks to all those pesky cyclists. So, if interested post here, and I'll post tomorrow after tea with a yea or a nay, depending how work goes tomorrow.

Hi all. I'm planning to get a freer breathing zorst for my VFR, and quite like the look of these. They do carbon, s/steel which is my personal preference, in round and oval. And they're only in Stoke Anyone dealt with them? And what do you think of the cans? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-VFR800-VTEC-Twin-Round-Carbon-Fibre-200mm-race-silencer-Exhaust-Kit-/271078796702?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item3f1d8e2d9e Or a more "traditional" tailpiece http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-VFR800-2-V-TEC-03-10-TWIN-SS70-OVAL-225mm-STAINLESS-STEEL-SILENCER-KIT-/290790000458?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item43b46f474a

pairs removal
smilinjack replied to haveugot1's topic in Advice on Repairing and maintaining your bike
Not on a Busa of course, but the PAIR mod is a popular one for the VFR Vtec like mine. Quite simple too-for those of you who like a read, or any other Vtec owners, look here http://johnny.chadda.se/article/pair-and-flapper-mod-with-bonus-snorkel-mod-for-vfr/ I may remove the snorkel but I'd need to make up a gauze filter of some sort to keep big crap out. Also looking at a K & N filter and set of cans. But, what I can say, based on a brief test ride just now, is WOW! It's like a different bike, surges off the throttle at low revs where before it stuttered and jerked like a . I thought it was underpowered, and it sure ain't a Busa, but it feels like someone's put another 100cc in there. Well chuffed -
If I took a bike and failed the moT I'd be a touch embarrassed TBH. Anyway, took the VFR in and she cruised through. I want to try & find time to disable the PAIRS and flapper valve before the weekend, but not too hopeful. At the mo I'm actually looking at ferries and accommodation for next year. I'm trying to persuade SWMBO that we should go to the Picos de Europa. Wish me luck!!

Arrived safely in Beziers, nice cross country route this morning before the motorway slog south. Massive jam near Aix en Provence thanks to a bloody Romanian lorry-sounds familiar I also discovered there is enough time at toll barrier to follow the previous vehicle out Serves them right for automating the majority of them. I did wonder how the barrier knows I'm on a bike or if l might get stiffed for a car toll. Anyway prob saved enough for the underground parking and 24 hr porn at the hotel.

The problem, according to my research, is the Photobucket app is basically sh1t. Keeps logging me off, won't allow direct links so it seems the pics will have to wait until l get back. Anyway, spent first night in Tours, lovely old quarter and very lively as it's a university town. From there cross country by mainly D & N roads to Vienne, south of Lyon. Today we did the N85 Route Napoleon, and a blinder it was too. I'm done in with all that braking & turning I don't mind admitting. Two nights in Grasse, so a bike free day tomorrow. Temp still around 30 in the day, sweating like a bas***d even when moving. Off out to find something to eat now.

Well actually Den I've got a Nexus tablet and my smartphone so if I can get a wifi hotspot I'll update when I can. Incidentally, Wifi is pronounced wiffy in France, so I can actually ask around for a wiffy hotspot. Might get me arrested here! Will most likely start a new thread in due course. Just finalising packing and trying to reduce the wife's shoe count. Need to leave home around 2-3 this afternoon, so should see the MotoGP before I go. Laters all

I've got a few more hours of work to sort out tomorrow, but we're in place for a Sunday departure. I've had a bit of a change round-rather than tunnel/ferry to Calais, we're sailing overnight from Portsmouth to St Malo. Costs more but saves a lot of fuel/tolls and one night's hotel, so kind of same difference. Plus you don't have that dismal slog across the Pas de Calais. Don't need to be at port until teatime on Sunday which gives me more time to pack and sort my paperwork etc. Arrive 08.15 Monday morning, so brekkie in St Malo (went there on a Z650 chop in 1982 ) then first night's stop in Tours. From there basically southeast towards the Med at Grasse via Route Napoleon, follow the Med coast to the flat, prob stop in Beziers or Sete en route. Wish I had some waterproofs though, mine are in Spain!
