  1. Motor looks pretty close to, erm, an XS1100
  2. Are you sure that's a 750 Gaz? That black panelled tank looks more like the 500-4 IIRC. Could be wrong like, wouldn't be the first time
  3. done , is yours still the same ? Yes it is m8 Think Sunday looks about 70/30% on, will let you know tomorrow afternoon.
  4. Not got that far yet Mike but generally leave Nottingham around 9, so that puts us in Whitby (dependent upon route) around 11 give or take. Be nice to catch up mate, hope it all comes together.
  5. Pleasant enough ride down the Fosse and I love Bourton, but as Jezza points out, you're probably not going to be alone there. Not for me as I'm working. Plus ca change, eh?
  6. Okey dokey. PM me your number-finally got a new phone but had a bit of a battle getting all my contacts off the old one.
  7. I just had to renew my licence so had to surrender my old paper counterpart. IIRC there were 11 convictions on it still managed to insure a group 16 bike so don't start worrying just yet. SP 30/50 almost meaningless nowadays.
  8. .....I might be going for a bit of a blat. Just fitted some Genmar bar risers on my ZZR1200 & I want a decent length of trunk road as well as some fun bits, need to see if the cruising comfort is better. I was thinking of the Whistle Stop Cafe at Whitby railway station. Up the A1 then either A64 past Pickering or the Driffield road towards Scarborough then along the coast. Not too fussed, but be prepared to cruise at speed for short stretches Or I'm open to other suggestions. Any takers? I'll confirm it Sat afternoon once I know the state of play with my work.
  9. It's a paddock stand? I thought it was a typically overstated B king pillion grab rail
  10. Don't mean to be nosey, but is it a big one then? I drove with 9 points and the insurance hike wasn't that bad.
  11. Easily the worst Xmas turkey I've ever seen
  12. Alpinestars you'll get on fine with them.
  13. Craig Vetter Hurricane tucked away in that lot. My mate had one of those. Sounded superb quite a few Brit triples in fact. Good taste Dick
  14. Jeez Dave, that's a shitter. Don't know the ins & outs but good manners cost nothing. You'll never set a pace for everyone but sometimes the quickies have to just go with it-it's happened to me before. I used to ride with a very nervous and painfully slow friend but surely it's not always about speed, sometimes (most of the time I'd say) it's about the craic, the company, the scenery. Maybe these Harley riders who go everywhere at 45 mph have hit upon this! Chin up dude, you're OK by me.
  15. Sun's out in Nottingham and I think they'll get a decent day. I just had to text Dave to say I'm not coming-got a lot to catch up and also prepare for mother in law coming out of hospital on Monday. Gutted Have a great ride guys
  16. Jeez Grumps, just seen this. Sorry you've made that decision, but never say never. Funnlily enough I was close to buying a Mazda MX 5 for the wife a couple of years ago, could certainly see myself doing the N-260 in one of those. All the best anyway mate, I expect you'll stay on the forum though?
  17. That's going to be an Android phone I guess Stan. You'll soon figure it out. I bought a Nexus tablet a few weeks ago and found it pretty easy to get along with.
  18. Well done Mel, just back from my son's graduation in Cardiff. He starts as a junior doctor in a week's time. Again, congratulations.
  19. If you can average 65mph going to Skeg you would be doing very well. I can't go anyway-must get my head down this weekend and do a VAT return and replace the central heating pump.
  20. After two false starts this summer when work cost us two flights to Spain, I booked two weeks off in September and we have changed plans somewhat. Originally planned to fly to Spain and ride my VFR back, but we've decided to take a bit longer and ride my ZZR down, spend a few days beach bumming, then ride the VFR back. Just booked my return ferry from Santander so now just need a tunnel ticket as we're going to ride the length of France via Route Napoleon and Gorge du Verdon. Planning about 5 days travelling through France and unsure about the return leg, one or two nights max. Might just overnight in the little place I stayed when I rode my Bandit back, totally MFN. At last something to look forward to.
  21. how far is it ? Don't mind going earlier Leicester to Brecon about 140-150m I guess. TBH too far for a day trip. It's going to wind up around 500 miles for me. Can't afford the fuel or the arse cream!!
