  1. Saw him race that bike at Mallory Park, think it was 1975. And where's the bloody Not Worthy smiley?
  2. I know it's stating the obvious, but you see I'm a bit old fashioned. Been to Halfrauds a couple of times for a Haynes manual for my VFR Vtec. Checked stock on the website-OK. But when I got there it was of course the old VFR manual, despite that one having a different stock code so I took a look on Amazon. Long story short, I got the correct manual, well actually the updated one which covers models up to 2009, delivered to my door for £17 odd. Compare that to the £24.99 Halfrauds wanted for being unable to supply me, and you have to wonder what the future is for shops. But TBH, I still feel a bit guilty and slightly soiled for using t'internet. When all the shops are gone you know we'll miss them. It's a bit of a dichotomy doncha think?

    Hello

It sure is-pity it closes at 6 o' clock though
  4. I was reading about this earlier. No surprise, I think others involved in motor sport are probably questioning it's validity in these times of economic woe.
  5. Bigger pic would have been handy Dick. Is that the late MH? If not has to be the equally late BS
  6. As indeed did Labi Siffre before them. Nice one Stue-does this mean you now get another pressie to unwrap?
  7. I've added it via a link so no one can say they were shocked & outraged by accidentally happening upon it. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/ImgGalleryTn/8/583608/147953_467279.jpg
  8. Think Travis, David Gray, Radiohead. You're somewhere close.
  9. Just back from Turin Brakes' 10th anniversary gig for The Optimist LP. Superb gig and if you get the chance go & see them. I know they're playing Newcastle, York & Sheffield over the next week or so. Might go to Sheffield for another hit myself. Great night.
  10. I've got a wee job near Aberdeen this week, but the company is flying me there to save time. So, offski to Birmingham airport this afto, do the job tomorrow, back tomorrow night (late). At least that's the plan. No wifi in the hotel so I won't be on for a day or three. Play nicely & I'll catch you all later.

    Hello

welcome Jane you're not too far for a ride up to Derbyshire next year when the days get a bit longer. Look forward to seeing you in Matlock Bath.
  12. I bought myself a couple of bottles of local brewed stuff today at Belper farmers market-an IPA & what they call Winter Ruby, a sort of dark bitter it seems. Also picked up a litre of scrumpy and a bottle of black Sambuca. I won't be drinking any tonight mind as I'm at work in the morning.
  13. It surely would be wicked-but I'm not sure I have sufficient character defects to get on there. And if that doesn't leave me wide open for a pisstake nothing does.
  14. Is there a better show on the box? Where do they find some of these people? I'm utterly addicted, sad to say.
  15. Actually Dave it did feel a bit of a barge after a few weeks on the VFR, but that power! You'll understand the more you use the King then get the Bandit out.
  16. So, I finished my FLT test this morning, obviously no way I was going back to work, so I decided to get my ZZR out of storasge. Fired up OK, battery sounded a bit tired but I figured a bit of a ride would pep it up. Then I made the mistake of stopping at the ATM & switching off sure enough flat as witch's tit! As luck would have it my neighbour passed by as I was removing the battery, so got it on charge, wife nipped me down tonight so it's now safe & sound on the Optimiser as we speak, as it were. But what a plonker!
  17. Cheers lads. Got to say though it was the worst 30 minutes of FLT driving I've ever done. Happily didn't kill anyone so I got my card!
  18. Work sent me on a 3 day forklift course this week. Today I passed the test so I can now operate forklifts up to 5 tons. Handy string to my bow possibly.
  19. I bought a HP netbook for £350. 3GB memory, 650Gb HD, Bluetooth, good performer which will fit in my little rucksack. No optical drive though.
  20. Hey I'm a keggy hander too-or as they say in Latin, sinister.
  21. i walked past the Voxan factory once. Unfortunately it was closed. I think it's gone tits up now hasn't it?
