  1. I don't think i have ever been asked if i've been banned from driving on an insurance form? Got to have been. Standard question that.
  2. Dismal, doubt I've done 2k. Got out a fair bit early Spring but overall must do better, although now I'm a wage slave again that's likely to be difficult.
  3. They're doing it because a batch of BLANK blue ones got stolen, so they have to reissue all red ones. Worst part is the new ones don't have a facility for declaring that you've personally scrapped a vehicle, which for a pikey like me is a bit of a pisser.
  4. Well if one poxy thing like that thread doesn't go your way I'd expect a bit more than just spitting the dummy. Life's not about always getting your own way. Come on Rose, you're better than that aren't you?
  5. Hmmm.......can't add pictures either. It's like the whole toolbar is locked out. but it look like I can drag & drop. OK Dave-''''
  6. OK thanks lads so just go easy on me while I sort it out-I haven't turned into a miserable cock overnight!
  7. I don't seem to be able to put emoticons in my post any more. Anyone tell me what I've done or has there been a change in how the site operates?
  8. Well I got fixed penalty & £60 for 42 in a 30. Best cross your fingers I guess
  9. OK Tubthumper, it seems no one has actually answered your question. You received a NIP in the post, which is exactly what it says-a notice of intended prosecution. What you will be asked to provide at this stage is either an acknowledgement that you were the driver at the time of the alleged offence, or the details of the driver should it not have been you. You will then receive a reply, most likely a Conditional Offer. This allows you to take the option of a fixed penalty and the points. This will almost certainly be £60 and 3 points. Send your licence & cheque, and it's finished with. If, however, you were going substantially over the limit, you will receive a summons to appear in court. Pretty unlikely TBH. Some constabularies offer speed awareness courses which you will pay for but which normally you will avoid the points. Note it doesn't quosh the speeding conviction which you will need to disclose to your insurance company.
  10. says Liam Gallager. He's referring to my topic of the evening, the reformation of the Roses. Please God make it worthwhile. And to close, it has to be " I am the Resurrection". Apt wouldn't you say? Groove on all
  11. So, the Stone Roses are to reform for a world tour and hopefully album. Can they recapture the magic of the first time around or are they just a bunch of middle aged has beens who are in it for the money?
  12. Thanks Stue. If I'm completely honest, I won't lose too much sleep if I can't sell it. It's the space more than the money, and having owned it 10 yrs +, I've sort of got used to having it around.
  13. As many of you will know, I rode my B12 back from Spain a wee while ago. I was thinking of tidying it up over the winter to sell in the spring, but I thought I'd punt it on here for your interest. Details: 1998 Bandit 1200, Maroon, genuine 12,000 miles. Serviced around 1k miles ago, new plugs, valve clearances, oil & filter. Five degree ignition advancer, 20mm jackup, twin Dommie headlamps. Custom seat, stainless frame inserts, K & N filter, Hagon progressive fork springs. Gold Renthal bars, mini indies. Currently SORNed so no tax & MoT. Still got original seat & bars, owner's manual & Haynes manual. Bad bits: right side fork seal leaking, chain ready for replacement. Needs a clean & polish and there is some pitting on the cases caused by some fungus from a bamboo curtain we left in the lockup near the bike. It may clean off for all I know. I'll post a few pics when I get chance. As for price, looking at what's going on Ebay etc I reckon even as it stands it's got to be around £1500, but I'm prepared to discuss that with genuinely interested parties.
  14. Fair point but it's happened because too many other bikers were running out of road by going too fast for their abilities. They may well prevent accidents as more people, myself included, will seek other roads to have their fun on. So as usual a few bell ends ruin it for the rest of us.
  15. At least two of those were coined by the US military. Used to be a half decent band doing the club circuit called Snafu. Google Micky Moody.
  16. Well,yes. A fair point well made
  17. You didn't really think it was genuine did you? Been going around for the age of a crow that one.
  18. Old motto of the HAMC When we do good no one remembers, when we do bad no one forgets.
  19. Not unlike Viv Stanshall as I recall him
  20. Slave trade? That's quite a leap Gaz. I doubt if the average white van man has an intimate knowledge of the slave trade. Otherwise they might know that the first slavers were themselves black. But I don't see any future in this thread except bile and rancour. And that's all I've got to say 'bout that.
  21. Isn't that the Honda 250/6 in one of the first slides?
  22. Frankly I think there's been a bit of over reaction here. In the final analysis this is an internet forum, and mods cannot, and should not, exercise complete control. It's like the TV-no likey, look elsewhere. I don't want to see the "no offence at all times" police on this site any more than I do on others which I frequent. And as for the word itself, it's completely a question of perception. This is an Anglo Saxon word which was in common parlance before the Norman invasion. After the Normans took control of England, French became the nation's official language, ie the language of government and the royal court. Anglo Saxon came to be viewed as common and vulgar, the language of a subjugated race. Imagine if we were taken over by for example a muslim race, words we take for granted might easily become verboten; we might finish up being taken to task for espousing the word vagina
  23. Looks fake to me too-vehicle doesn't seem to have marked the road, and no fire damage to the trees. And isn't it curious that the camera turned to look down that road as the whole thing kicked off?
