  1. Back in Blighty, didn't take my pooter with me to Zaragoza. Excellent ride there & back BTW. I'll post up a few pics later if I'm still awake (early start) so just got to change my son's clutch & a few other bits'n'pieces before I go back into wage slavery on Monday morning.
  2. Hi Dave yep could be worse. Too many half dressed women to look at, making my head hurt! I'll hopefully log in again from Zaragoza. Toodle pip all
  3. OK found an internet connection in town, just having a cortado looking out to sea. Just booked two nights in Zaragoza from 2moz, so maybe have a few pics to post in a day or two. Cooler today, about 27 degrees ATM just been for a quick blat in the hills on the Bandit. Now off to find wifey on the beach. Hasta la vista!
  4. Could be worse Dave-my missus reversed over my ZZR
  5. Had to go to see my parents & arrived as they got on the podium. D'oh! Fsncied a good race today as it's a small twisty circuit which evens things out. And my mate Chris was there the bastid
  6. Get well soon mate, and yes-fractured ribs & collarbone are extremely uncomfortable.
  7. Yeah hard luck Dave & everyone. It was my wife's birthday & she said she can't remember the last time it rained. Mega bad luck still as you say had a bit of a social There's always next time.
  8. "Only there for the month"-love it! Enjoy your reading. I'll be in Spain Tuesday afternoon and am hoping to have a couple of nights away on the Bandit, maybe to Zaragoza. Bonnes vacances!
  9. Yeah have a blinding time Rose. are you taking the bikes? And are you internet capable over there?
  10. Can't disagree with that. If I can "spring" a bit of coin early next year wouldn't mind a Firestorm or SV1000S for the summer.
  11. I really really like this idea thanks for your time and effort, and that goes to everyone who as given there input, when Dave gets back from im sure he will agree When Dave gets back from the pub I think he'll agree to pretty much anything!
  12. can't argue with that, although I wasn't making an point for insurance ,I was talkin in general Yeah you're prob right-not to mention you'd need to be a hunchbacked dwarf to fit on most sportsbikes.
  13. It's basically a back door way of increasing premiums. what SHOULD happen is a sports bike rider, or anyone who declines pillion cover, should receive a lower premium since they are lowering the potential risk. This way means that insurance companies can use the fig leaf of potential pillion claims as a means of justifying their rapacious greed. As the article points out, you don't have to specifically cover passengers in your car. If the accommodation is in place, the premium ought to cover it.
  14. A nice looking bit of kit that. And nice to see you're observing good workshop safety practice Stue. Love those safety boots!
  15. Not for me although that's getting depressingly close. Tomorrow my ZZR will pass through the 60,000 mile mark. Like me it has no chance of retirement, but it's quite a mileage that we've shared together. I'd hoped to be somewhere a little auspicious but I'm afraid I'll be barrelling down the A14 probably around Bury St Edmunds en route to Needham Market. At least it looks like it will be sunny.
  16. Not wrong-my ZZR1200 is the best all round bike I've had. Comfy, economical & bastard fast. But small they ain't.
  17. My dad always wanted a Myford lathe to build a few model steam engines on. Guess that's out the window then.
  18. How far did you ride the VFR mate? And most importantly, how fast did you go? It's no sit up & beg, but way short of sporty. Even my ZZR puts more weight on my wrists. BTW, if you look at Sprints, the 2007 model onwards has higher bars. I wanted one but didn't have the coin so went back to Honda. Not sorry mind you.
  19. Of course I know where there'll be a good one for sale in a few weeks.......
  20. Out of that lot for me the Z1000SX is the standout bike. Wish I could afford one.........

    newbe

Welcome mate. I do like the old CB1300
  22. Used to work like that. You could write a cheque for £59.99 or somesuch & the system wouldn't process it. Now you'll just get done for failure to pay. As I have learned, best to take it on the chin & pay up, unless you want to go the full fat version & return mail as NO CONTRACT RETURN TO SENDER. That's a whole other thing though.
  23. With the points you have to pay to have them removed if they have not been removed they will still count. Don't know where you got that idea from. On that basis I should have been banned twice by now. Your points are valid for three years for totting up purposes, whether they're on your counterpart or not.
  24. That should be a Conditional Offer as has been said. I got done 42 in a 30 and thought I might get a summons with being so much over, but most forces just want the easy life. And hard luck BTW.
