  1. Just booked us a flight to Spain back half of July-£46.00 each which seems decent for start of the school hols. Hope I don't have to cancel again because of work, well half of me does could be my last full week out there with the Bandit before the ride home in September. Ahhh.... So I'll have to take a little tour somewhere if only for a night or two.
  2. Shouldn't have bought those cheap shit tyres mate
  3. Yeah got the exact same ones on my ZZR. It's one thing that's put me off the Sprint ST TBH (aside from the price)-the panniers are puny & would barely do for the wife's cosmetics, hair straighteners
  4. True enough, but they're a bit ugly and the lights are shit.
  5. I'd be inclined to do that myself mate. But yes, one to watch.
  6. Yeah I wasn't sure whether to post it or not in case Stue dived in before me. Fella is prepared to sell the cases seperately.
  7. Well, undeterred by my old Peugeot 406 crapping the bed today, I've simply lowered my sights a bit. Found a nice looking VFR800 V Tec model with FSH & luggage, spoken to the very nice chap who owns it, and hopefully will view at the weekend. Certainly can't afford a Sprint 1050 now but this one looks a decent second choice. He's asking £3,600 so try & work on that a bit. I'll let you know.
  8. It's the wife's car really Neill. I was happily barrelling along the B4116 near Twycross when it happened.
  9. .....and the Lord taketh away. Finally got some work in, making a bit of money, thinking about another bike maybe, so the ****ing car had to blow the head gasket didn't it! I really ought to get something newer so my Sprint/VFR may have to wait a little longer.
  10. A bloke walks into a bar. He goes "Owww!!" It was an iron bar
  11. Confirmed sports tourer me ZZR, VFR, currently trying to get some coin together to replace my Bandit in Spain, prob with a Sprint 1050 ST. If I had room for a second "me only" bike either Speed Triple or Aprilia Tuono.
  12. Work this morning, got in & fell asleep on the settee! Did go to work on the bike mind
  13. Wow, that tale pretty much takes the biscuit!
  14. Guess what-I'm working keep banging out these orders & I might yet be able to get another bike.
  15. OK, I think I've decided how I'm going to get home on my B12. Forget the slog up through France, I can sail from Santander to Plymouth for £136! Nice ride across Spain to Burgos, that leaves 100 miles next day to go the scenic route over the edge of the Picos de Europa into Santander, leave 9pm & arrive Plymouth 4pm next day. Saves about 500 miles of hammer on the bike and prob 2 nights hotel & food in France and I get to see somewhere different. Bonus! Flight out in September £22.99 one way. Looking like a plan.
  16. With the amount of wars we get roped into, most bands are pr ewar!
  17. Raining atm Dave, but it will clear I reckon. I went from pissing down to dry roads in half a mile coming back from work just now.
  18. Yes I quite like that single they keep releasing
  19. Close but I'd guess you'd use j'aimerai to say "I'd love/like to". Can't remember the future conditional conjugations but that must be close BTW it's quite common for the French to use third person impersonal verbs instead of we/nous eg on est anglais- literally one is English. I find it easier to work out that way
  20. He didn't Dave. Had there still been two as it used to be, maybe he'd have said something.
  21. As I said yesterday, I've been riding the ZZR without MoT for over a fortnight. Took it down today, not to my usual place, and she flew through Although since the tester was a fellow ZZRista I guess I had a head start He did remark on how sweet it sounded for a bike just short of 60k. And then the punchline-his mate's splitting from the wife and has a 2006 ZZR1400 for sale. 5k miles, Electric Blue, sensible extras, £5k. Be still my beating heart! This is approaching affordable to me, so I may have to at least view it sometime soon. Things have certainly started looking up recently.
  22. And trust me it will be a proper protest What, sort of like this? http://ukfrancebikers.com/2011/06/18/france-completely-paralysed-by-almost-100000-bikers/
  23. What you after now then mate There can only be one stue for me the mighty b12 not rushing into it though, just waiting for the right one And I'm riding it back from Spain this September just looking at cheap flights now.
  24. Yep, as indeed I have done most of the last month, apart from my Scottish sojourn. Then I realised my MoT expired on June 4th
