Well as I said a few days a go, my Hein Gerick Gore Tex suite leaked when on my trip to Cornwall. Which I got back in 2008 and had done over 20000 miles in. So I dropped it down at Hein Gerick Leicester so that they could send it off to be tested. Less than a week later Andy from Hein Gerick called to say you can come down and collect a new Hein Gerick suite. Cool how much do I owe you? Andy at Hein Gerick er it’s a full replacement the Hein Gerick Gore Tex suite has a life time water proof guaranty, so nothing! So yesterday I went down to what is now my favourite shop and picked up my New Free Hein Gerick Gore Tex suite. The best thing about going to Devon and Cornwall was not the 844 miles in four day and the great scenery and some very nice road let alone the good company of mate Chris, but the fact that it rained hard one day. Ok rain is not normally a good thing but in this case it is, Why I hear you say, well my Hein Gerick Gortex kit leaked, not good at the time but good now as I have a new suite sat a Hein Gerick for me to collect for FREE! So today is ride to work day, so I donned my shirt and tie then popped my trousers in to my bag and put my leathers on go the bike out and went to work on the . It was hell! Not the ride to work that only took 5 minutes and not the 10 minutes it take to get the bike out of the workshop “door locks, alarm, bike chain and lock, disk lock then put the alarm back on then locks on the door” No that was the easy bit it was the weather that mad it hell, let me tell you the sun is out its perfectly still and just worm enough to go for a nice ride out. So it was Hell as I turned in to the parking lot and parked up! Still if the weather holds I’ll go for a potter after work for and hour or so just to make it worth getting the bike out! Ok so call me Mr Money bags but I splashed out on a Garmin Zumo 660. It’s not cheapest on the market but it’s fully waterproof clips into its own holder which has a waterproof cover for when the satnav’s not in the mount. It’s hard wired none of that Crapy Blue tooth to deal with. My mate Chris has the TomTom rideer2 and just about every other time we go out he has to feck about with the blue tooth. Most times he loses the sound, you cannot alter anything on the Rider2 when your moving, not that I would recommend it but some times you just need to turn something up or down an the motorway. I did not fancy stopping just to turn up the MP3 player. I have a simple role I like: “keep it simple stupid” and having spent a lot of time looking into Satnav’s I paid my money over, so far and I have done 844 miles in four days I am quite happy. Hi all Well after a long weekend away with my best mate Chris in Devon and Cornwall, “it’s not as gay as it sounds, we had separate rooms and every thing” we decided to do some full days out and invite others along to see if we can increase the number of miles we clock up in a year. So this run is to Hunstanton on Sunday 26th June, weather permitting, if your interested in going can you PM me so I can gauge the number of people that want to go. So to the route; start Bruntingthorpe at around 9am, Oundle, Downham Market, Hunstanton for lunch. Coming back; Sutton Bridge, Deeping St James, Stamford, Morcott, B6047, Kibworth Beauchamp the back to Leicester. We have planed stops for coffee and Fuel. Er yes but they are not very water proof and you cannot see the screen in bright sun light plus my not so Smart Phone is keeps forgetting to look up to find the satellite Anyway sorted now I used my convert tool and created a GPX file and put it in the X:\Garmin\GPX “where X: is the zumo” worked first time. Hi all, So want mad last week and splashed a lode of cash on a Garmin Zumo 660 The Zumo 660 arrived last week all nice and new powered it up and it had a dead pixel on the screen “Doh!” anyway got it replaced with in a few days “nice”, so I have been playing with the Zumo easy to use, nice to have on device that can play music and have Sat Nav on at the same time designed for the bike and full water proof. I know you can created Custom Routes on the device it’s self but I have about 10 years worth or routes that I created in Auto Route of trips to Europe and around the UK. I have a conversion tool that can convert them to just about any format including Tom-Tom, Garmin and Google maps and so on, so the question is dose anyone know which file I import the converted files into so the Zumo sees them as a Custom Route, I know on the Tom-Tom it’s the ITN folder but I am not sure which one for the Garmin. Ok so they have taken out the wrong amount out for your account, if you go back to them and “A” ask why the quote price changed and “B” get them to send you the transcript of the call. This may help you out. I personally have had nothing but a good with them myself, Ok they are not the cheapest out there but for the service they give. Thick head get’s a new job but as it involved working a way his boss puts him up in a Hotel for the first time in Thick heads life.
