  1. In a similar vein, but not as funny as the Street Ka ones
  2. Haha I did that today, purely to annoy the missus. The point dear chap, is to keep ones tootsies at a temperature between feet in trainers and bare feet in sandals Agreed x lots. Erm, what else can we ban.... 1. Ban anyone that appears on Jeremy Kyle style shows from voting 2. Ban soaps and reality TV shows unless broadcast between the hours of 2AM to 5AM. 3. Ban uniform-wearing schoolkids from having their shirts untucked. 4. Ban valve adjustment by shims, returning everything to locknut and thread type adjusters like GPz500s or old OHV Ford engines. This one *may* have been prompted by just coming in from the garage having checked the clearances on small child's ZX6R and finding they are miles out 5. The more I think about this, the more I realise that a complete list would be very very long.....
  3. Heh, no worries mate I'm sure we'll catch up sometime Mind you, if the other half doesn't get back from Asda soon, I'll not go out until after tea and she will be left at home
  4. Don't worry about it, you'll always run into - there are some good guys that will take you seriously, but in my other half's experience (x3) there are a lot of places that take the mick out out girlies more than car garages. Just feel smug at their obvious insecurities and learn to chill a bit and take your custom elsewhere Mind you, the upside of being a girlie on a bike is that you will have dozens of regular people tripping over themselves to lend a hand / advice etc

    Hello boys

    Hello and welcome TZRs rock
  6. If I do housework all day when it's going to be 24 degrees outside, I'll end up going off my trolley! If anyone is out riding in Leicestershire (ish) later on and don't mind me [1] and possibly small child [2] tagging along or meeting up somewhere, give us a shout. [1] Probably slower than usual, as I'll most likely have the missus on the back. [2] Pending Hell freezing over and him waking up before tea time
  7. Easy, the VTR will run out of petrol every 80 miles
  8. Yeah, I miss my flip front lid too
  9. When I manage it, you just can't beat being out at 4-5AM in the summer even better when you do a bimble to Hunstanton or somesuch, get there for brekkie, slow ride back in time for dinner and still got most of the day left Mind you, don't manage it often enough - the night before often gets in the way
  10. Not a fan of unfaired bikes but you have done a great job on that and it looks really nice. Think you made a great choice with the colours and brilliant attention to detail I always find the polishing amazing - I just about have the patience to polish and end can let alone go over carbs with an artists brush Hope you get to enjoy it for a long time to come
  11. Can't beat getting them riding
  12. Will do, then again I'm usually up for a ride. For what it's worth this was my route: http://goo.gl/saVDf I put this together for a mix of roads but trying to avoid too many speed limits and overly policed roads - like those around Rutland Water plus I can do it on a tank of fuel if I fill up at Branston's But I think I'm tempted to go from Seaton up to Morcott then down the A47 for a breather to Wansford and cut out the Kingscliffe section. Depending on how I feel the end bit changes by going back to Melton (and McDonals!)and either going across via Asfordby or just plod back down the A607 at slow speed. Any improvements muchly welcome
  13. Up early and was glorious weather here, but took too long to get my butt into gear so didn't get out much before 7 Love getting out silly early (4 or 5 am) in summer, trouble is it screws up your night before! Anyway did my old big lap around the East of the county (ish) for the first time in a fair old while and it needs a tweak or two because of some new speed limits. Trouble is, I can't remember where they were now (apart from the B6047 south of the A47)so I guess I'll have to do it again soon and pay a bit more attention! Get out while it's sunny people!
  14. See, you just gotta believe!
  15. Good luck axl, let us know when it passes
  16. Ah Melton - the gateway to the road to Bourne
  17. Parody of the Iphone vs, HTC debate. Probably NSFW, but it made me chuckle... http://goo.gl/tD9Dd
  18. You could be right about the W800 and you raise a good point about there being a difference between rare and classic, mind you sometimes the two do go together and then it gets a bit blurrier when you take into account personal preference - for example I dislike *all* of the 4 bikes I mentioned above. Do people buy bikes that are now 'classic' to run simply because it is a classic? I don't know about anyone else, but I tend to prefer alternatives - for instance I'd go for the 929 over the early 'blade any day of the week. Oh and to agree with another post, I think the early R1s will end up fetching silly money because they were quite iconic in their time and finding one that hasn't been thrown into the scenery is hard enough now, let alone in another ten years!
  19. ...And probably double as a vehicle lift
  20. Can't see the TT600 becoming a classic, not because it's a pile of crap, but because it was a very good all-rounder but didn't excel at anything - which kind of missed the target market at the time, when buyers of sport 600s wanted the bragging rights of thier bike being 0.0006 seconds faster than their mates CBR. I'd compare the TT to the Suzuki RF600R, which at the time of launch, was lauded by the press (especially Bike magazine)as being the next big thing, stating that it was a better all round bike than the competition and better than the CBR600 in every department - but buyers didn't agree. If you look at stuff that has reached classic status, most have their shortcomings - GPZ900s handle like an inebriated camel on roller skates and have that troublesome anti-dive, RGV250s eat gearboxes and need massaging in baby oil every 200 miles,RD500LCs had big issues with the main bearings and CBX1000s were known to wreck valves and conrods because of an iffy fuel tap set-up. The Triumph T595 Daytona is *much* more liked than the later 955i by most fans in the same way that the pre-VTEC VFR is, but I think that they are both too bland to make it. To get to proper classic status, I think that a bike has to be lusted after by youngsters that can't afford one until they get to 35 (which is why RDLCs, heck even FS1Es make lots of money now) or they have to bring back fond memories of bikes early in your riding days, or just be downright quirky. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, it is for those reasons that I present you with: Aprilia RS250 Suzuki SV650s (curvy) Buell XB Firebolt Ducati 999
  21. Maybe he took a wrong turn on the way back from MFN?
  22. Like it, especially as it's a smoked one not chavvy clear one
