pair of paddock stands

Not a huge fan of them myself. Lots of folk seem happy with them so maybe its just me? They have too many parts bolted or welded together and are over complicated. I have a set and they are thrown under my bench waiting to get welded up solid. On mine the bolt together sections have become loose and sloppy, after a lot of use. Now I only use the nice simple one piece ones. Maybe some makes are better than others ? and I just got a crap set ? -

Had to take the B-King. Its my only 100% legal bike. Some good mountain roads very close to me but there were 3 bikes down over the last week, 2 of them fatal, so I expected to see LOTS of cop's. Didnt anyway. Selling a house was a huge weight off me. Had bikes with no tax, bald tyres, couldnt even afford fuel. Should have sold a couple and had a life but me being an arse didnt want to part with my toys. Farkin' glad its behind me now. Being back on the bike is the best therapy !

Didnt ride much last year. Paying 2 huuuge mortgages and doing up houses, so although I dont get the UK winter, I really do know what its like to be off the bike. Couldnt resist another play on mine today. Was a bit warm with all my bike gear on. Very tempted to stop for a paddle in the creek on the way back home....

Hope to USD my B12 in the next year.. The guys on ASF have done dozen's! Few thing to think about.... Most USD fronts are shorter, look for one of the longer one's or use a stepped top yolk (lower on sides than centre to drop the forks) Do you want to keep a cable drive speedo ? if so your need a front end with a drive or to fit one. Stems arent hard to get pushed out and changed between bottom yolks if they are the wrong length for the frames head stock. Will the lock-stops line up ? Can always grind them off and drill and tap a couple of chunky allen head bolts. Not a fan of the Busa's 6-pots. Even some Busa owners go back to 4-pots. Radials on the new Busa/B-King/GSXR's are waaaaay better. -

Not a fan of the 1250 Bandit, and love the style of the original Mk1 over the Mk2 oilcooled, no real reason, just do. Personal taste. My first one was a money pit. GSXR spec motor and clutch, pipe, filter, ignition mods, Renthals and a 60hp NOS wet kit with a 2.5lb bottle. Current Bandit12 is a de-faired 99 model. Near stock but for a Yoshi can, Renthals and an SV650 headlight I had spare. Its going to be a future project one day. -

Have fun Dave ! Just spent most of the day digging holes in the back garden. F@rkin' hot! Planted two lime tree's for the Mrs and put in 7 "mock Orange" bushes to grow into a hedge. Im paying the price for clearing the garden to build my shed.... About mid day I was stood under the hose pipe and the water was still coming out warm! -

I had a Busa and a B-King but still hunted around untill I found a Mk1 Bandit (99 model) they have a raw basic charm that the new stuff doesnt. Just because the newer bikes do everything better on paper doesnt mean they are more fun. Mk1 Bandit 12's are just big boys meccano and are built to misbehave on... -

Hornets are OK bikes to ride and do a few minor mods but you'll never find great performance or do running gear / performance upgrades like a Bandit/GSXR/Busa. Even the oldest, worst GSXR750 can be made into a giant killer just by swapping factory parts, engine, forks etc. There's a reason Suzuki's absolutly dominate the Drag and streetfighter scene. Depends how you value your performance ? -

Anything can be "fightered" Cheap, Tough ? Gen1 Bandit 12 GSX1100 ET / EX / EF. TL1000R / S. Fireblade. Original Gpz1100, ZRX11/12. Gpz750 Turbo. ZX9R (lots fightered out here) Z1000R/1100R (Lawson rep) I even managed to stretch my little budget to a Hayabusa by buying one that had been dropped with panel damage and needed tyres. -
