Had some of the earlier versions with the variable resistor. (There was a recall on them as some of the heater wires were visible over the rubber but easily checked) However they worked brilliantly and were very warm even on the lowest setting. -

Got several mates who have had BM's and have sold them because of the poor quality. One of them had the 800 and all the panels had to be changed as you could see the primer. On a 12 reg bike!! Another lost an exhaust and a third the front mudguard beak which turned out to be a known fault. Seems it doesnt apply to the GS range -

I would have gone for that until you mentioned luggage But it does say 'Marco' on the frame Stue -
Just a smattering here but the 'SUN' is burning it off. -
