Click for larger image Reader Nazril sent in these 3 shots of the new Perodua D46T MPV, which apparently is being displayed in near full glory at the Minggu Amanah Saham 2009 in Johor Bahru. Thanks Nazril! Now we can compare these shots with the already revealed shots of the Japanese model so we can see what the differences are. Click for larger image Quite interestingly these shots show a dashboard that has its dash-mounted shifter very intact - it’s not been moved to the floor! So that’s nice. The dash has a two tone design, dark att the top and beige at the bottom, with some form of integrated audio head unit with steering wheel audio control on the steering wheel. The front seats are joined together (not the backrests though) as a single bench, and the arm rest in the middle looks like it can be flipped up to become a small backrest for the middle area, unlike the bench seat this part was found in the Passo Sette. No sign of a handbrake so it must be foot-operated! Click for larger image Of course there are some changes compared to the Japanese unit. The displayed Perodua D46T MPV interior used blue backlighting for its head unit and a blue instrument panel, while the Japanese car uses orange. The head unit design is also very different, but I see a little mic there so there should be a Bluetooth handsfree. Air conditioning controls have been changed from automatic climate control with an LCD panel to a manual 3-knob version that looks like it shares parts with the Toyota Vios, but this 3-knob control is also found in the low spec versions of the Passo Sette. For more info on the new Perodua MPV (currently called by its Perodua D46T codename) based on the Toyota Passo Sette set for a launch later this year

Rumor has it that Ferrari will study its options whether to continue the development of its F60 racer or not, after the Formula 1 circus returns to Europe on May 10th for the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, which takes place after this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sakhir race track. Apparently, if the performance of the car is no where but acceptable after the Spanish round, the scarlet team may just end up focusing on its 2010 contender, while still participating in the 2009 season, with a broken leg that is. However, this is still a rumor, as Ferrari has yet to release an official statement regarding the matter. If the pointless effect continues till the Spanish round, the Italian team can almost kiss the championship battle good bye, as it would be almost impossible to come out first if the team does not score for five races in a row. However, team boss Stefano Domenicali mentioned in China that the team is currently working on a new diffuser kit for the F60 since the double deck diffuser design is now considered legal by the FIA, and that the team plans to implement the new design in time for the Spanish race. The Italian team is definitely going through a rough time right now, with one of its worst seasonal starts for the past decade.

This is the other concept Proton Exora which Proton Design whipped up in conjunction with the Exora’s launch. The Proton Exora Prestige converts the Exora into a VIP chauffeured car with a lounge behind where one can either continue to work on the move or relax on the way home after a stressful day. There is of course a bodykit which includes a double fin front bumper grill, warp-around chrome foglamp garnish, a front lip, side skirts, rear apron with integrated quad exhausts, a rear roof spoiler, chrome glass trimming, chrome side protector moulding, a customised smoked rear brake lamp, tinted glass, and 18 inch wheels with 224/40R18 tyres. In the interior, the first row is separated from the rest of the vehicle via a glass panel to give the boss at the back some privacy. The rear passenger can communicate with the driver via an intercom. This privacy glass panel includes a 19 inch LCD TV. The VIP seats have electric adjustments, a massage system, and a built-in working table. Other creature comforts include a nice sound system including two 8 inch subwoofers to match the 5.1 channel DVD player, a stow-away footrest and a cooler box.

Stuttgart-based sports car maker Porsche has officially revealed its four-door Gran Turismo; the Panamera at the Shanghai Motor Show in China. Initially, the Panamera is offered in three forms, all of which are powered by a 4.8 V8 powerplant, and that a 6-cylinder gasoline as well as a hybrid version will join the stable later. The 1,770 kilograms Panamera which measures 4.97 meters long and 1.42 meters high is offered in forms including the base Panamera S, the all wheel drive Panamera 4S and the high performance Panamera Turbo. The S is powered by a 4.8 liter V8 that is capable of 400HP which comes with a 6 speed manual, while potential buyers can also opt for Porsche’s 7 speed PDK dual clutch tranny. This model goes for 94, 575 Euros. The 4S also outputs 400HP from the same engine and it can be fetched for 102,251 Euros, while the high performance, also all wheel drive Turbo version can deliver 500HP from the 4.8 V8 that is coupled with a twin-turbo system. The Turbo which carries a 135,154 Euros price tag can sprint to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, to a top speed of 303 km/h. All engines feature Direct Injection as well as Auto Start Stop, when fitted with the PDK tranny. The interior is finished with high quality materials, giving it a very expensive feel. Buyers can choose between 13 leather upholstery colour and material combination and 7 interior trim finish styles including materials such as Carbon and Olive Nature open-pore wood. Other interior features include Comfort Memory Package, High-End Surround Sound System from the Berlin audio specialist Burmester with 16 speakers and 16 amplifiers, 1,250 liters of luggage space (with rear seats folded down) and more. The Panamera, which will go head to head with the upcoming Aston Martin Rapide also features, among others, an active aerodynamic system with a 4-way adjustable rear spoiler (for the Panamera Turbo), adaptive air suspension with additional air volume on demand as well as a complete cover on the under-floor that extends to the drivetrain tunnel and rear-end silencers that helps reduce both air resistance and lift forces on the axles, which can result to improved fuel economy.
