  9. Apparently Italian sports car maker Lamborghini has revealed that it has canceled its 4-door Estoque project. Like many other canceled projects, the reason behind this is the uncertain world economic climate, but we are not sure about the nature of this cancellation, is it a complete shut down or just a temporary measure? Rumor also has it that the auto maker will not switch its e-gear automated manual to a dual clutch transmission which is now more widely used by many auto makers. Apparently, Lamborghini’s customers prefer using the more “dramatic” e-gear, instead of a dual clutch setup which is a little too smooth. We will bring you more details regarding the cancellation of the Estoque 4 door coupe project once an official word is released from Italy. In reference to recent rumors regarding the cancellation of the 4-door Estoque project, Lamborghini has released an official statement concerning the matter. The short but direct statement indicated that the auto maker was not planning in putting the Estoque into production in the first place. Apparently, during the 2008 Paris Motor Show, when the Estoque concept was first shown to the world, Lamborghini only mentioned that “if” the auto maker wanted to add a third line-up into its model range, the logical thing to do is to introduce a 4-door coupe, like the Estoque. Anyway, this is what the auto maker revealed in the release: “In reference to recent press coverage commenting on cancellation of its Estoque project, Lamborghini has not taken any decision to produce its Estoque concept car, the four door performance saloon concept shown at Paris motor show in 2008″. “As stated when the car was shown, Lamborghini believes that if a third model line should ever be added to its product line up, a four door luxury performance saloon could be a logical product strategy. No decision has been made to produce the Estoque”.
  10. Words are being exchanged within the motoring fraternity that Japanese-based Nissan, will reveal a GTR with softer springs to offer a more comfortable ride quality. Dubbed as the GTR SpecM, as opposed to the SpecV high range topping version, this new model is expected to feature a re-calibrated suspension with “ripple control shock absorbers” to offer better bump absorption. To offer a more plush feeling on the inside, the new version will most probably be treated with new seat color choices, optional aluminum and even woodgrain finish (no way!). I don’t expect performance figures to change, as well as exterior fitments. It may sound a little off putting, but there are definitely buyers out who would prefer a less aggressive GTR. Stick around as we will bring you the latest updates!
  11. Die hard fans of the Prancing Horse out there, you may get back to your seats, as what you see above is JUST a rendering speculation of a Ferrari California based crossover published in a Mexican based motoring site, Automovil. Since BMW, Kia, Honda and many other auto manufacturers are making full use of the term CUV with many models hitting the market, our friends at the Mexican publication just had a spark in their minds; “what if Ferrari joins the fiesta?”. Edmund Canno blended design cues from the Ferrari California with the Mazda CX-9 to produce this not-too-bad looking rendering. Just like any other rendering speculation or concept cars, there must be a speculation of what kind of engine it may feature, which in this case; a 450HP 4.3 liter V8 from the California, which should be mated to an all-wheel-drive system! However, there is no way that in reality, this ‘vehicle’ will roll off the exotic sports car maker’s factory, since it is definitely un-Ferrari like to even think of such a vehicle in the first place, or maybe not? Ferrari F450

(not real pictures) Spy shots have been taken courtesy of AutoExpress, of the new F430 which will be called the F450. The new sports car was seen being unloaded from the back of a truck somewhere in Italy and features new sweeping side air-vents due to its mid-engine design. The car will be a push to a 4.5-litre V8 engine producing around 500bhp with the help of an increased rev-limiter and modified internal properties. There is also a chance that this car will be matted to a modified dual-clutch gearbox system similar to that of the Ferrari California. AutoExpress have also tipped that there will be a likely hood of F1 KERS-like technology being used in the new machine which will be likely to make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. 13. Kia has unveiled the 2-door coupe version of the good looking Kia Forte at the NYIAS 2009 ongoing in the US this week. The 2-door Forte called the Forte Koup (Cerato Koup in some countries) will be Kia’s first 2-door coupe, and measures 176.4 inches long, 69.5 inches wide and 55.1 inches tall with a wheelbase of 104.3 inches. It uses the same platform as the Forte sedan, using MacPherson struts and stabilizer bar at the front and a torsion beam at the rear. Two trims are available, the EX and SX, with the SX also featuring a sports suspension among other various equipment level differences like leather steering wheel and shifter, metal pedals, Supervision self-illuminating meter panel, and sports cloth seats. Interestingly in the US, tilt and telescopic steering is only available on the SX - if the car ever makes it here it better have that option, even on the Forte sedan! Under the Forte Koup’s hood is a choice of either a 2.0 liter CVVT engine with 156 horsepower and 195Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual or 4-speed auto for the EX or a 173 horsepower 2.4 liter engine with 228Nm of torque for the sports SX version with a 6-speed manual or a 5-speed Sportmatic automatic transmission (with 2 overdrives, meaning more like Civic’s 5-speed rather than Mazda’s 5-speed). Kia says the Forte Koup trumps its competitors like the Civic Coupe, the Scion tC and the Chevy Cobalt Coupe with a larger 90.7 cubic feet interior volume. It has 38.7 inches of headroom and 43.6 inches of legroom in the front seats, and 35.3 inches of headroom and 33.9 inches of legroom in the rear seats. The provision of such data clearly shows interior spaciousness is one of the factors that Kia is pushing for this car, since some people may think C-segment coupes are cramped.
