Fuelled by this thrilling development, we decided to hunt around for designs of 2009/10 Premier League kits. Thanks to advancements in interweb technology, and how easy these advancements have made it to steal leaked photos, The Spoiler’s Richard Gilzene has gathered together and assessed prototype designs of what the Big Four may be wearing next season. Enjoy, and prepare to laugh at the hideous garment Manchester Utd may be forced to wear while on tour… Arsenal are keeping their current home shirt for the next campaign, but the garish canary yellow away has apparently been dumped in favour of a shade green of green that is bound to clash with the referee’s shirt. The last time the Gunners wore green on their travels was the 1982/93 season, when they finished 10th and got knocked out of both domestic cups at the semi-final stage, by Manchester Utd. An inspirational choice, then. Our rating: C-, must try harder Chelsea fans will have to fork out for both a new home and away strip next season. Lazy kit makers Adidas have allegedly gone the same route as their proposed Bayern Munich design, and decided on a Robocop body armour aesthetic, which has what appears to be a zip running down the front. Because we all want to see Ashley Cole’s chest hair. Our rating: D-, see me after class Like Arsenal, Liverpool are sticking with their home design next season but may be trading in the retro grey second strip for a classy black, red and gold affair. Since switching from Reebok to Adidas for their official kit-maker, it seems the Scousers have had first dibs on all the good designs, while Chelsea have had to settle with some rubbish day-glo efforts. Our rating: A+, Kop fans will be hoping this is the real deal As is usually the case, Manchester Utd have had a raft of supposed designs leaked, with various sponsors splashed over the front. They all seem to agree there’ll be a V-shaped design somewhere on the shirt, though. Our favourite is the minimalist retro home shirt with collar, a mash-up of FA Cup Final strips worn from 1909 through to the early ‘70s. http://www.fansjersey.com/gallery.php?id=3905 [picture with sponsor on it] http://www.fansjersey.com/gallery.php?id=3906 [picture with sponsor on it]Away kit In stark contrast to the simple home design is this thing, which appears to be a mash-up between United’s 1992/3 shirt and 16th century peasant chic. Our rating: A for the retro one, B for the modern twist, and D for the horrible ‘80s New Romantic throwback Pls comment if you like this article

Click to enlarge The abomination above is apparently what Katy Perry would be churning out if she invested in a pimp-my-ride kind of shop. This Life Ball MINI was designed by a two-people team called “The Blonds” and inspired by Katy Perry’s style apparently. It’s based on the only just recently launched drop top MINI Cabriolet. It will be offered as a prize draw at the Austrian event and you can purchase a ticket for 10 Euros, with all proceeds going to causes that fight AIDS. Last year’s Life Ball MINI went in an auction style and frankly I very much prefer that design as well as the photography that came with it… remember the Agent Provocateur MINI Clubman? Hopefully the raffle style sale will generate more money than the auction, which hit €45,000. Look after the jump for all the Life Ball MINIs in the past. Being fast is something that car manufacturers want to associate themselves with, so you can’t blame Ferrari and BMW for pulling off publicity stunts with 008 Male World Athlete of the Year from Jamaica, Usain Bolt. Ferrari let Usain drive around in their F430 Spider on Monte Carlo but BMW and his sponsors Puma gave him another rather fast car, the E92 BMW M3 Coupe. But that M3 is gone now, as Bolt crashed it into a ditch on Highway 2000 a few days ago, but not before the car flipped around a few times and landed upside down, there goes the carbon fiber roof! The road was wet as it had rained earlier. But even after all of that he emerged from the crash virtually unhurt, with just a few cuts according to him. A testament to the crash safety of the M3. As a precaution to these sort of things happening, when Usain Bolt took delivery of his BMW M3 Coupe he attended BMW Driver Training session where he took his new screaming V8-powered car at the BMW Vehicle Test Facility in Munich under the supervision of a BMW driving instructor. Well, at least he still has his model car

The Autobots go on a cross-continental convoy in this new trailer of the Transformers 2: Revenge of The Fallen movie. The convoy goes from Long Beach all the way to some desert area with pyramids, damn! It’s a massive GM marketing exercise featuring cool new upcoming GM cars such as the blue Chevrolet Volt, the now-production Chevrolet Beat and the equally as cute Chevrolet Trax concept car. There is also a new concept car just introduced at the Chicago 2009 show called the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Concept, which is called Autobot Sideswipe in the movie While we’re at it let’s just take a quick glance at the new cars that will appear in the movie. Cars such as the Camaro (Autobot Bumblebee) and like the GMC Topkick (Autobot IronHide, can you imagine this large truck’s chassis underpins Obama’s new Cadillac limo?) What’s new are these two cars, two out of the three concept compact cars that GM has exhibited in the past, the Chevrolet Trax and the Chevrolet Beat. There are also rumours of a sexy Saab Aero-X Autobot. </FONT>

As the likelihood of General Motors’ Chapter 11 filling is increasing, the struggling auto maker has officially announced that its Pontiac vehicle brand will be scrapped by 2010. The auto maker has also revealed that it will be cutting a total of 21,000 jobs in an effort to reduce cost. It will also reduce its dealer network from 6,246 dealers it had in 2008 to 3,605 by 2010. On top of that, General Motors also plans to sell, or if it does not turn out well, shut down its other vehicle brands including Saab, Hummer and Saturn. Lets just hope that all these measures taken by General Motors will return expected benefits
