  4. The Battle for top honors at the Nordschleife continues, with yet another revised 'Ring time for the Nissan GT-R. After a second day of testing, Nissan claims that the 2010 model hacked off nearly a second from its time on Wednesday, delivering an unofficial lap of 7:26.7 – a mere four-tenths of second behind the Corvette ZR1's official time and just over a second slower than the Ferrari Enzo. As always, unofficial times should be taken with the appropriate amount of NaCl, and the way things are going, we expect Porsche (or GM) to fire back, at which point Nissan may finally release the GT-R SpecV's lap time.
  5. Earlier this month, sharp shooters brought us our first glimpse of the test mule under development to replace the gargantuan Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, and now we're getting a closer look... with some camouflage. As the big V12 four-seater is the oldest model in the Ferrari range, logic dictates that it should be next up for replacement. However, there remain more questions than answers as to the nature of the new grand tourer. Rather than update the current 612, sources suggest that its replacement will be an all-new model. Expect the Enzo-derived engine to provide the motivation in the place of the 575-derived V12 that initially powered the Scaglietti. So far all we can tell is that the tail pipes have been reconfigured in a stacked arrangement like those on the California, while at the front, a big square box protrudes from the hood to house whatever kind of next-gen powertrain Ferrari has in store. Ferrari's been known to be working on a part-time all-wheel-drive system to help handling and traction, while a KERS-derived hybrid braking system could also find its way into the 612 successor and direct injection is likely to be employed. Sources suggest the new GT to debut in 2011, but we wouldn't be surprised to see it arrive sooner.

  11. One should really shower applause on the marketing team of Mattel for their ingenuity and shrewd tactics. It all started way back in the year of 1995, when Mattel introduced the treasure hunt series; it was a strong marketing tactic. Even Mattel was into production of only 10,000 units worldwide. But the treasure hunt series was an instant hit and the production was hiked up to 25,000 units in the subsequent years. The beauty behind such clever marketing is none of the treasure hunt cars are in any way different from the existing small cars. These cars are similar in look and feel. By creating demand for these cars initially by releasing only one design for the subsequent 12 months, they created an artificial demand which worked out into the favor of Mattel. It has carved itself a niche in the toys market for this series of small cars. It got to be noted that there is a rise in price and recently Mattel has once again kick started the good old strong campaign by introducing the two tiered treasure hunt series of cars. Mattel has pinned high hopes on this specific series and it is rumored to produce a record number by this year end. Mattel will firmly ride on the success wave as it this T-Hunt series is a sure winner in every way. By creating a new type of specialized set of cars in the existing line, it has got the fan following. Any serious collector would pop into a toy store for selecting these rare cars and he would never find one, as the production is very limited. Out of desperation, he would select any one of the existing cars and as both these types of cars are made of the same material, there would not be any change in revenue for Mattel. Another strange phenomenon is the skyrocketing of prices for this series of cars. One major component is the internet boom, as the availability is very low; these cars find a premium in the crazy hot wheel fan market. If you are clever enough to understand the marketing gimmick behind this treasure hunt, you would opt for Mattel shares and not for its hot wheels series. The company has been growing steadily through some clever marketing and through a strong sales team. Found On a Blog So what u guys think is there a point behind this................................ TH Diehard collectors don't get angry with me since this is not by me </U>
