enyomic 0 Posted December 22, 2009 this reminds me of a similiar incident in Carrefour but the thing was this, they put actual price SGD3.90 but offer price SGD3.50. I was #$%^ ..... everywhere else retails at SGD3.50. Are they trying to short change us. Mayb the person who do up the poster misread it and put it at a higher price. aphong2681 0 Posted December 22, 2009 Isn't that the sign for Tesco's X'mas promotion? Tesco are selling HW FR @ RM7.90 each & RM5.90 for HW basic car.. I think they just displayed the wrong price.

netmatrix 0 Posted December 22, 2009 Actually nothnig to do with economics. Didn't you all hear the news yesterday? Heard in TV3. This is the article few months front.http://www.hktdc.com/info/vp/a/tsg/en/1/6/1/1X06CCQA/Toys---Sporting-Goods/New-Malaysian-Toy-Safety-Requirements.htmThis news was few months ago. One of my customers actually dumped all their toys imported from China for their sales because in order to comply you need to send every model to be checked by Sirim. And i overheard it cost 4 figures to get each complied. I thought it only affected toys made from China. But then every toy made everywhere is affected. So now you know why the cars are getting expensive! And i believe Mattel must submit every model from their mainlines range to get the certification. So if they have 300 cars this year times 4 figures..... you do the math. Now for HW it is considered still ok for some. But for tomica collectors would be the worst. I think near RM15 for a basic car. And the TL series, mampus RM30 bucks each.

Spoiler: cham2020 wrote:rumours saying MPH RM 7.50 nowCHAM! i have bone to pick with u.why don't u complain about PETRONAS that sell their HW at rm8.50?? any outlet can sell anything they wish at what ever price they want. have u ever heard of RRP?? if u haven't, look it up. emphasis on the first R.also. try to do thorough research and investigation before you start spreading rumours/news like this!not everything u see on the internet is true. if u believe the internet then1. u will be able to break into ppl cars using a tennis ball2. megan fox is a guy3. the world is gonna end in 3 years (oh wait... thats not the internet.)the sign u saw is jus a mistake. ask the person who photographed it if its mispriced. if he doesn't know. ask him if he SCANNED the item to confirm the price! if its really is at rm7.50, then pick up the phone, visit another outlet and ask them what their selling price is for HW basic car is! don't simply start things like this. pls understand that i wud rather pour water on the person who started the fire n kick him into the flame than to pour it on the fire itself.sorry to say it like this in public. but u r my friend. and i feel i shud be done this way and others shud be aware of this tooSpoiler: prabha71 wrote:Demonicle should be able to find out if it's true. The Official "Giving up on mainlines Thread" might just blow up..as far as i've heard, if the price is going up, its not because of mattel. its because of sirimSpoiler: netmatrix wrote:Actually nothnig to do with economics. I think near RM15 for a basic car. And the TL series, mampus RM30 bucks each. i've talked to mattel about this in august. and from what i know, mattel toys go thru thorough testing before they are actually sold. and they already have childproof certification from a bigger company dunno from where. so who r sirim?sirim's main concern is all the china toys. so mattel, hasbro and companies like these shudn't be affected. but stillthis is malaysia. so malaysia boleh. mattel tak boleh.this is from what i got about 4 months back.i didn't want to share as there wasn't any final decision or confirmation.so jus keep your fingers crossed.but i would like to quote 'guyy''a smoker will still buy cigarettes even if the price goes up. and a hot wheels collector will still buy hot wheels if the price goes up'
netmatrix 0 Posted December 22, 2009 I got a few more hobbies that does not need a lot of money to make me happy. At RM7.90 (IF) then it should be the first to go. Then that box of whatever i have would be a time capsule with the rest of the stuff i had. hahaha.
