Omigosh, and I was waiting for more offers, like buy 2 free 1.

Time to grab some stuff before the high price kicks in everywhere.

this reminds me of a similiar incident in Carrefour but the thing was this, they put actual price SGD3.90 but offer price SGD3.50. I was #$%^ ..... everywhere else retails at SGD3.50. Are they trying to short change us. Mayb the person who do up the poster misread it and put it at a higher price.

Isn't that the sign for Tesco's X'mas promotion? Tesco are selling HW FR @ RM7.90 each & RM5.90 for HW basic car.. I think they just displayed the wrong price.

Demonicle should be able to find out if it's true.

If it is.. The Official "Giving up on mainlines Thread" might just blow up..

Economics will explain this scenario...demand up, supply low, price pasti NAIK....haih...terpaksa stop so that the price will go down...

Actually nothnig to do with economics. Didn't you all hear the news yesterday? Heard in TV3. This is the article few months front.

http://www.hktdc.com/info/vp/a/tsg/en/1/6/1/1X06CCQA/Toys---Sporting-Goods/New-Malaysian-Toy-Safety-Requirements.htm

This news was few months ago. One of my customers actually dumped all their toys imported from China for their sales because in order to comply you need to send every model to be checked by Sirim. And i overheard it cost 4 figures to get each complied. I thought it only affected toys made from China. But then every toy made everywhere is affected.

So now you know why the cars are getting expensive! And i believe Mattel must submit every model from their mainlines range to get the certification. So if they have 300 cars this year times 4 figures..... you do the math.

Now for HW it is considered still ok for some. But for tomica collectors would be the worst. I think near RM15 for a basic car. And the TL series, mampus RM30 bucks each.

I got a few more hobbies that does not need a lot of money to make me happy. At RM7.90 (IF) then it should be the first to go. Then that box of whatever i have would be a time capsule with the rest of the stuff i had. hahaha.

Even if HW has passed USA toy safety regulation, it does not mean they can pass Malaysian one automatically. So more money to pass the regulation.... yearly!!!

in that case my bad mistake in bringing up matters like this ...... Say what u want but all I can say is as long as we buy hw we will forever be on the mercy of mattel.
