  1. Just got back in from King's Lynn. The A17/A47 were tractor central today, not to mention the caravans.
  2. Right, card agreement signed and ready to post. At least I've got some flexibility now if required. And as luck would have it the wife's out so she can remain blissfully ignorant.
  3. Not for me Dave I have to say. It's about 860 miles end to end, so add in your trip to the start and then back home, got to be a ball park mileage of 1,300 if not more. At 400 miles a day that's potentially three stopovers. You'd definitely need at least four though. Take it from me, 400 miles a day on a bike takes some doing. Expect to have no fun at all doing it at that rate, particularly on Britain's choked road network. Sorry.
  4. I want a 1800 intruder FFS!! You need a frontal lobotomy
  5. It's what I can afford, not what I want. I need to get something smaller and more nimble than my ZZR. On the plus side, it isn't an inline four. Swore I'd never buy another one. And I've been watching the ZX forum closely-not by any means a perfect bike, particularly for my purpose.
  6. I was hoping for a Z1000SX, but I don't have the spare money for that. Looking at Sprint ST 1050 Triumph.
  7. Blimey, when do they have their summer break?
  8. Just applied online and got an instant decision-£8000 limit on a card with 27 months interest free purchases. Should help grease the wheels looking for another bike.
  9. I won't make it mate, too much to get done. Sorry.
  10. Nice Z1000SX for sale in Brackley, but they're closed this weekend!!
  11. See if I can get £1500 for it. No particular rush to sell, can use it for a while longer, and squeeze a bit more value from it.
  12. Mate advised the same thing earlier on. I'll give that a go.
  13. I might Dave. I'll look at the website & see what's on offer.
  14. I've got the bike in decent order but I'm very drawn to the Z1000SX. Nowhere to keep another bike so I have to get rid of one. So, what would you suggest is the best medium to use to sell a high mileage, well used but rock solid bike? It's done 71,000, got a dent in the tank from a swinging gate, needs a chain but new tyres, recent service, will have a full mot. Suggestions please.
  15. Had a job in Market Harborough today Dave-only had to overtake once between there and Melton. Typical eh?!
  16. Quick test ride today, looking promising. And changed the oil & filter on my VFR. I'm actually starting to get on top of things.
  17. Among the varied issues when I rode my ZZR back was a sticking rear brake. Seal kit arrived today, I'd already split the caliper and cleaned the pistons, so reassemble, new pads, bleed. It's as good as new. Proper chuffed I am. Will fit new front pads too. So that's valve shims all up to scratch, new plugs, air filter and coolant. Just got what I think is a blocked pilot jet. Got some fuel treatment to try before I gut it again. Can live with it til winter anyway. So, I don't know whether to try and MoT it and hope he lets the chain go. I'd like to run it for a few hundred miles before deciding on a new chain but it does clunk a bit. It starts and idles a treat now though, i'm sure I've nailed the fuel issues.
  18. Get a motor mower. Just as fast and actually serves a purpose.
  19. Been for a bit of a blat round with Dave today, typical Sunday morning country ride speeds I'd say, bike feels superb. Much better throttle response and spread of power, and 145 miles used 13.13 litres of juice. 49.69 mpg to the old fashioned among us. I'll take that thank you!!
  20. Yeah, thanks for showing me round a bit. Shame we ran into LCC's gravel mountain, but hey-ho!
  21. Well, weatherman has come up a bit short again, but I'm up on time. Quick drink and I'm offski, so should be there as arranged Dave.
  22. I'm going Dave, try to get off at a decent time. Do you know the petrol station more or less opposite Sainsbury's? You could come in on the old Six Hills road and be there easily enough. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.773521,-0.8940632,18z not sure if that will work. The Esso with a Tesco Express attached. I'll try to be there at 9:30
