  1. I went on their pet food run to Huncote a good few years ago, funnily enough we were talking about it last week, be nice to do it again now I know it's still going. Didn't know who was organising it at the time. I'm a bit of a letdown though aren't I Dave?
  2. I like that-a £1.50 transaction fee and you have to print your own ticket. But as everyone knows, Donington is an anagram of robbing bastards.
  3. I'd certainly be interested in going. I've put it in my diary, maybe one of us can stick a reminder up nearer the day?
  4. I think you may be right. Be nice to hear that Lanc, and at £5.00 admission it's only a bit more than a pound per Merlin. But FFS someone tell them how to spell TAXI.
  5. I did Chad. I think I've found my next bike. Like the love child of my VFR and Speedy. Perfect blend, just need to decide how I'm doing it and what to get rid of.
  6. Now we're talking! Fast, lovely riding position, steers and stops very nicely, good wind protection. I could deffo go for one of these.
  7. Hey Mike. All the best mate, life can pile up on you a bit sometimes.
  8. Going to look at a Z1000SX early next week, take it out hopefully. I'll keep you posted.
  9. And rather nice it was too. Nice smooth engine, perfect gearing so no slouch despite being only 95bhp. Plenty of toys, very comfy seat, but I don't know if I'd want to buy one. Anyone here own or ridden a Kawasaki Z1000SX?
  10. Quite looking forward to The Revenant in the new year. Looks nice and grim
  11. Glad to help mate, no need to thank us. Oh,hang on, you didn't......
  12. Alrite mate, Nottingham lad like me. Do you know Griff down in Tamworth? Very good with all things Aprilia, if he can't help he'll know someone who can.
  13. Yeah, this one surfaces from time to time. Like the Yank who reported a burglary, said don't rush, I've shot him.
  14. Looks a bit of a bitch to fit a rack on though....
  15. Certainly much calmer round here. Quite nice in fact.
  16. So where do I post my pic, best one I've ever taken!!!
  17. I think we all know that Ebay and tosser go together like ham & eggs. Hope you get sorted mate but it's hardly a surprise is it? I think Ebay's time is coming, they are now better known for grief than easy money for your old crap.

    New boots

I've got some of those Dick. Bit small TBH, maybe should have gone a size up. No problem, but not enough room for thicker socks at this time of year.
  19. One of the nice things about my return to self employment has been using the bike to go to jobs on where possible. Some rides are better than others of course, and this week I have so far used the M1, M6, A14 and A1, all likely congestion hotspots. Ergo, I have been able to put my filtering skills to frequent use. As you will all be aware, some people are happy to move across and help you out (I have a VFR with Givi E41 panniers so now & again I need help) while others steadfastly remain where they are and enjoy the somewhat pyrrhic victory of causing a few seconds' delay. Fair enough. But on three occasions this week, a driver has seen me coming, and deliberately moved left to block me off. Again, fair enough. Chacun a son gout and all that. The interesting thing is, all three vehicles were BMW. And all were being driven by a woman. Not the same woman of course but of all the vehicles on all the motorways I was driving on, only female BMW drivers saw fit to actually try to impede me. As if to round off the point, cruising home on a three lane stretch of the A14 today, I indicated right as I prepared to overtake a car in lane 1, looked in the mirror to see a vehicle in lane 2 going at some speed (90+) Ultimately I had to brake and wait as the driver either didn't see me or decided it was too much bother to nip across to lane 3 and give me some overtaking room. Your homework tonight is: what make of car was involved, and what gender was the driver? Notwithstanding all that, it is nice to be getting some kind of use from the bike again, and it's not all bad. A couple of weeks ago I was going over Cat & Fiddle in glorious sunshine.
  20. That's ma boy! Actually, hi viz doesn't work too well from the front-human eyes are peak sensitive so ppl are likely to see your headlight clearly but not much else. If they can see you in your jacket, it probably tells you as much about your headlamp as anything else.
  21. Nooo..... not another Terry Fuckwit. So many of the riders I see in hi viz clearly look like they're wannabe professional riders. Normally have Pans or BMWs. Ah well, chacun a son gout.
  22. It was the real deal. Had flashing blue lights tucked away in the fairing. Anyway it was an East European truck so I hope he was proper had
  23. On my way into Chester this morning I saw an unmarked black FJR1300 stopping a lorry. So if you're in Cheshire, think twice about passing a slowcoach on a black Yamaha.
  24. Maybe a 24 hour snooker hall nearby,
