  1. At work all weekend up until around 2 this afternoon. Hope you enjoyed the empty roads anyway dude.
  2. No one finds it a little odd that a well known bunch of greedy half developers known as Microsoft are giving away their latest operating system? It looks like a desperate act to me-and given past releases, I'd be really careful here. Be sure you have a retreat path if it all goes horribly wrong. Remember Vista or W8 for that matter.
  3. My great great uncle Reuben used to ride around with a horse and cart with a placard telling everyone how dishonest some trader was who had crossed him nothing new in this. Go to a car dealer, expect to be spanked.
  4. Brought back memories of Senna on Up Pompeii that! Bike's a bit of a downer, maybe all those happy enough to relieve you, albeit willingly, of your cank may bring it upon themselves to help you out in your time of need
  5. Popular mod, Nissins. Better braking basically. Thought about looking into them for my ZZR, they have shocking brakes considering their size and speed.
  6. I know l've not been on a deal, l work all the time these days trying to rebuild my own business. Hoping things will change towards the end of summer.
  7. Not without incident yesterday. Really windy out of Zaragoza, then set the alarm off passing through motorway toll :$ but once in the mountains things improved. Passed the Aragon circuit near Alcaniz, once we passed the highpoint at Torre Miro- 1207 metres-things warmed up too. Now having coffee on the seafront in my shorts, maybe go to Muntanyes de Prades for the day tomorrow. Hasta la vista
  8. One of the most photographed monuments in Spain. (not the wife :-D )
  9. Walking round town dodging the showers, when l saw this in a local pharmacy. Random or what?
  10. Ride to the ferry went like clockwork :-D had a lovely run along the coast past Bilbao, then into the hills towards Vitorio Gasteiz. When we arrived in Zaragoza it was 32 degrees :-o storms tomorrow so booked an extra night here, do some sightseeing and maybe have a meal out in the hip quarter, el Tubo. Then on to Vinaros where forecast is sunshine and mid twenties all week. Fingers crossed. Chin chin :-)
  11. Well, back in from work by two, all pretty much prepared. I've cancelled the hotel in Potes having seen the weather forecast so it's overnight in Zaragoza then straight on to the flat. Maybe have a ride up to Tarragona and into the mountains there at the end of next week. Leave in the morning for Plymouth.
  12. I've packed!! Pretty much done, now all that remains is to once more explain the laws of physics to my wife who has a very poor grasp of volumetric efficiency
  13. New tyres (feel nice too) oil and filter, but best of all, a new air filter. I really wanted to replace the plugs and do the valve clearances but simply didn't have time, and I don't fancy all that so close to taking it abroad. Nevertheless, she feels great, all documentation is in place, so all that remains is for me to get myself organised.
  14. Just put a fresh mot on my ZZR. Still had four months to go but now I can leave it in Spain for quite some time without problems. Leave it at the flat, we're thinking of driving over at Xmas, weather could be ok for biking even then, when you appreciate it most.
  15. Made a massive difference on my ZZR. You should remember my first time out with them Dave-we went to Whitby to the Whistle Stop cafe.
  16. Jeez Dick, I thought you'd come up with a great nickname for Scots, then I looked again
  17. Just been looking at Galloway Forest Park funnily enough, good spot for some wild camping. Some decent, quiet roads around there too. What's your itinerary then Dave?
  18. Nice one mate, I'd have considered that one but too close to my trip abroad. What part of Wales are you crawling to?
  19. Been working up at the unit today, and I planned bringing the ZZR back to do a mini service Before Spain in a couple of weeks. I'm thinking "am I getting too old for this" as I battled to get it outside, whereupon I realised the rear tyre was as flat as a witch's tit. Like pushing it in treacle Luckily I planned to change it anyway, but I can't see any marks, cuts or foreign objects. Only used it last week, so a bit of a mystery. Anyhoo, wife brought a pump up, blew it up and got it home. Will check the pressure in a bit
  20. Speedy passed of course, just taxed it for 6 months, so big decision coming in the next few weeks. It is a fab bike to ride, and my mate fitted a Pirelli ST on the front a while ago, which has improved the steering no end.
  21. Time to kill this week, in Folkestone most of the week. Anyway, a Triumph Trophy passed me on the QE II bridge, and it got me wondering. Why on earth are touring bikes so huge? Is it not possible to make a decent tourer unless it weighs 450 kilos? I look around and can see nothing better than my 13 year old VFR.
  22. When you set off I should just about be pulling up at my job in Cumbria. Gutted, just need to think of the money. Have a fun, safe day out all of you. Sorry again Dave
  23. I'm out, got a breakdown to attend in Coniston. Sorry.
  24. I think best thing will to get it back on the road and take it to CMC and the Triumph dealer in Chesterfield, see what, if any, cash deal they might consider.
  25. All I do is work Dave. I have a neglected house in Nottingham, and a neglected flat in Spain. Truth is, I don't have time for biking, and barely the money, so I may as well cash in my chips and get rid of the dearest bike. Thought of giving it up altogether TBH.
