  1. Yeah taxed it now so all good to go. I hope the weather's kind, last time I was going to the Picos I wound up cancelling. In July daily temps were 7 degrees can always go the longer route along the Pyrenees or the direct route via Zaragoza. All nice rides in their own way.
  2. Don't start me on that one...........
  3. Had a panic attack this morning when Ryanair jacked a load of fares up, so I rather hurriedly booked up. Fly to Barcelona June 2nd, collect my ZZR and I'm going to take 2-3 days to ride up to Santander for the Monday ferry to Portsmouth. Only down side, doing it alone. Thinking about it, could be a plus Hope to spend a day or two in the Picos de Europa, see how the weather is when I get there.
  4. Follow your spirit, and upon this charge Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'"
  5. We originally should have gone to Spain on March 20th, but the French ATC had other ideas, and our flight was cancelled. Anyhow, off to Barca in the morning, try to get my ZZR battery revived or else get a new one, weather looks decent, so hopefully can rattle off a few miles in the sunshine. I'll try to check in but I think my phone doesn't have a password, try to fix that tonight. Play nicely til I get back.
  6. I check in every day, but there seems so little activity or response. I've sort of assumed it's all migrated to Facefook or similar.
  7. Bet your local shops love you............
  8. Quite right Dave, not nice. Some years ago I saw a rider get killed by a lorry-turned out to be my mate's 16 year old brother. RIP mate, whoever you were.
  9. Well, having just had a flight to Spain cancelled, French air traffic controllers.
  10. I mean, bloody hell Dave. For that mileage we could go to the Ardennes!! FFS get a passport
  11. Tintagel Castle, that takes me back. In general the north coast I think is better. Bude's a nice little place, Crackington Haven if the surf's up and Boscastle of course.
  12. your not still scratching about under cars at your age are you ? Most of my neighbours know my feet better than my face
  13. Neither can I, just realised wife's MoT is three weeks past, so it's under a car for me!!
  14. Be sure the battery's up to scratch Chad, a weak cell can exhibit similar symptoms to those you're experiencing.
  15. I've just ordered this. Every bike should have one. http://gammatronixltd.com/epages/bae94c71-c5b6-4572-89a1-e89006e78fbe.sf/en_GB/?
  16. There's no option here. They must supply proof of NCD on request, simple as.
  17. These do. Controller can deduce when the engine is off because of the change in electrical noise. After about 20 seconds they turn themselves off. It works too.
  18. I had a reg/rec failure on my old VFR. Was doing 90 in lane 3 of the M1 at the time it just killed the engine, hour's work to replace, happy ending. A good move is to install one of those little LED units from Gammatronix, keep tabs on things.
  19. First up,welcome Denise. No reason to not join a club, but you're quite well placed with members of this forum for a kickoff judging by your location. I'm always happy to tag along with people and I do know the Peak District pretty well, so there's a day out for you, if you can catch me not at work
  20. Been up the Peak District today, around 100 miles, temp 3-4 degrees. Got to say they've made this kind of ride far more tolerable. Just got to try them at speed and sustained distance which is where I need them most, really.
  21. Having decided I'll be keeping my VFR for some time to come, I ordered some heated grips the other day, half price from Sportsbikeshop. I've fitted them but not utterly tidied the wiring etc, just to try them out. Impressive, fitted in 45 minutes, got the original grips off in one piece . Got a battery saver mode which can detect if the grips are on and the engine isn't and turns them off, so shouldn't be any flat battery issues. Get pretty warm, see what they're like on the move on a cold morning.
  22. Terrible for me being a Nottingham lad. As pleased as I am to see someone thumbing their nose at the big boys, did it have to be Lestoh? Could have been Derby I suppose, that really would have been unbearable.
  23. Quite right too-should be glad you have a job. Be sure to doff your cap and tug your forelock in the morning! What are you, bloody Bolsheviks?
  24. Holy crap! I might come down with you and teach them English. Just been looking at their website.
