  1. If I had that kind of cash the first bike I'd make a pitch for would be Cheryl Cole. As to two wheeled exotica, not so sure. If I could simply have them as ornaments and not need to depend on them, mainly Italian & Brit. Maybe a nice T160 Trident if I could find one, certainly a Tuono Factory, some kind of MV Agusta and Benelli,a Voxan would be rather groovy, and the balance would be made up of new Kawasakis. ZZR1400, Z1000SX and a GTR1400 covers all the bases for me.
  2. Ironically I'd say Diane's had all the advertising she could wish for by now simply by refusing to accept the Forum rules and using the "please be nice to me" tactic in more than one thread. I personally don't care one way or the other about advertising, but rules is rules, so how's about we ALL abide by them?
  3. Got a T Dyno jacket. Very warm but hopeless in the rain, and the Bat pants leather trousers which are exceedingly comfortable over distance.
  4. Bring the wife camping on her birthday. Meanwhile, back on planet Earth............
  5. I quit a £30k a year job complete with Audi A6 in 2002 as it would probably have ended my marriage and/or killed me. Sometimes these days I regret it-I've never been so broke as I am ATM, but in my more lucid moments I'm in no doubt I did the right thing. The only way you'll know though is to do it-your call
  6. Yeeeeessssssssss!!!! Get in there! "and did those feet......." etc. Apologies to non cricket fans, but we've given the Aussies another right royal rogering and I've got to share it with someone. I can go to bed now, to sleep, perchance to dream.....
  7. Is that a Yam SR500 tucked away in the middle there? Old girlfriend of mine had one in those very colours
  8. Hi Gill and welcome I don't suppose you'll get too much response tonight but rest assured others will be along tomorrow to add to this reply
  9. I was hoping to stay up to listen to England's momento de verdad in Sydney, but its's started raining! Need to be up early tomorrow, but really wanted to catch the end of this biblical mullering we've given them. Fingers crossed it's only a shower...........
  10. Looks like just what my dad needs for his seldom used VW. Great promo vid too
  11. The title says it all really. I've got a '98 B12 which I'd like to do a bit of a tour on, and soft bags & tankbag could do with a little augmentation. So, I'm on the lookout for a Renntec type rack which I could strap a tailpack/rucksack/WHY onto. Anyone?
  12. Not a classic motor however. Coming up to an island near home this afternoon & there's a scamera van coming from the opposite direction, so I slow down to allow him to turn right ahead of me. f**k me if he ain't on a mobile phone! I could just spit at this rank hypocrisy bearing in mind the shaggings my family has had from the "law enforcement" agencies. OK rant over, I'll have my medication now nurse.
  13. It's free cos DVLA know it's bad enough owning a Bastards Stopped Again without paying for it too
  14. Very nice and the bike Great Scott! Is that a right hand shift Bonnie you're sitting on? And who remembers those awful conical hub front brakes?
  15. ....I'm not a particularly militaristic person, but I saw this via an American forum I visit and felt it was worth sharing. Had me close to tears I don't mind admitting. It's worth six minutes of your time.
  16. Earplugs all the way for me. We didn't notice helmet noise in the "good old days" I think mainly because we didn't have fairings. Biggest source of helmet noise is wind passing over the screen. I never have a problem on my Bandit, but 100mph on the ZZR is overwhelming without plugs.
  17. I went down today for a bit of a look but didn't get too far as there are two fasteners rusted in so couldn't even get the fairing off. He's going to get RAC to recover him to a dealer for a bit of a look. Now I've seen it "in the flesh" though I'm sure I'm right. Clutch is obviously being jammed by something & the engine won't turn. A tenner says the alternator chain tensioner is jammed in the side of the clutch basket.
  18. Bought one of those new in '76-77,LRA 891P, for £699. What a smashing little bike it was. We went all over on it for the next three years. Happy days
  19. mate. I'm inNotts too so you're not stuck for a bit of company if you fancy a ride out. Catch you later
  20. I'm out, can't really afford the fuel let alone anything else. I did promise to look at this ZZR so that's what I'll do. Sorry
  21. Lost two massive fish this winter. A grass carp and something else, my lad knows what it is. The ice is still nearly 2 inches thick so can't get them out. all the frogs I thought were dead seem to have thawed out
  22. Well I've been out on the bike again today, albeit only to work. I think a few people need to let go of this "my bike will dissolve instantly in the salt" syndrome. Use the fucker!!
  23. sister emailed me a pic of mum's lounge after the "event". How's that two days before Xmas? Good news is the claim's approved & work should start next week
  24. Outside possibility here although I've half promised to go & fix a friend's ZZR1100 on Sunday. A ride out would be nice though......
