Oh dear this makes me feel really old I remember so many of the things in this photo - the trolley bus in front of the RT (I did my training with London Transport on an RT when I worked as a bus driver many years ago, pre-select gearbox, what a nightmare!) The little cream Morris van on the nearside of the RT The small rectangular blue and white sign above the greengrocers on the right said "you may telephone from here" - shops had this as there weren't many public telephones about (and certainly no MOBILES!) It could be the southern end of the Old Kent Road approaching New Cross, you can see St Pauls in the background which is the right direction I reckon
