  1. One of the best tools I bought was a manual, used with a bit of common sense. Think I,ll echo Dave,s comment, "loctite" Well done on getting the bloody thing off mate!
  2. It does Lee, I think there is a diaphragm inside the tap which may have a split hence why the vacuum part of the tap,s not working. Might be worth taking the tap off and having a quick look before you order a repair kit just to be sure!
  3. If the tap is on prime Lee its gravity fed and will flow freely but when in the on position it is vacuum operated if yours flows like this then a new seal kit should sort it but your carb floats should stop it entering the cylinders
  4. Took mine yesterday to a testing station at Newton Aycliffe in Durham. Great little place, free tea or coffee, loads of the latest bike mags everywhere to read, very friendly receptionist!!, and the tester had 30 years in the industry and very talkative....... Oh! and the bike passed no advisories
  5. Agreed its great to see Rossi back on the Yam , but Marquez (20 years old!! )stuffing Pedrosa was the high light for me! not forgetting a great ride from Cal I think this is going to be a great season!
  6. Good news Dick! chain 3mm to slack Hmm! little bit pedantic! but at least its through for another year, mines in tomorrow, so I'd better get out and give it the once-over!

  16. Do you think the state of your garage is an insight into the state of your mind? " Where's Wally " nearly spat me tea out then Mark! But will have to get my arse into gear and get it sorted cos the bike is due a good service before mot and tax
  17. I got a rear puncture 70 miles after putting Michelin pilot road 2 on so had it repaired, done a few thousand miles and its been ok but its always in the back of my mind that the tyre has been plugged. For the first time in 29 years I have let the mot lapse and SORNed the bike, I was thinking of April to get all legal again but May might be more practicle I think Dick has the right idea with a second bike for the more inclement weather
  18. You could eat your dinner off my garage floor Garry, before I had to share it with my daughters learner
