*A Good Read* - Crashes why the happen and how to avoid

It was the same when my Dad wanted to teach my two sons to ride. The girlfriend (now ex) said no but my point was this. Both kids wanted to learn. Saying no would have meant either one, or both, getting onto an old C90 with their friends on a local industrial estate, opening the throttle and then trying to avoid a tree. At least with my Dad they would have all the right kit on, be somewhere they were allowed to be and they would learn clutch/gear control. To me it was more sensible. She agreed and so my Dad taught them both to ride trials bikes. The eldest one now has a VTR and the youngest one (21 now) wants a bike. I've said no as he's still a speed freak but if he does there's not a lot I can do!?

All of the above points are valid, and all make good sense. I won't reiterate them all except to say if you start the grievance procedure, keep it civil, make a note of everything and if someone tells you something also request it in writing. Feel for you mate. Hope you get it all sorted. As Stue says, we can always arrange a ride out for a few of us to go and see him

Well said Stue. I made a comment earlier in the year on this, so won't repeat it here. But I will agree with all the previous and reiterate a big thanks to you, Dave and Dick for maintaining the site. A site is made by the members, but is maintained by the men with the big sticks (only quoting what I've heard not from experience ). Look forward to meeting a few more this year. Hopefully I can keep the huskies thawed out and get the sledge moving up here in the frozen north Ride Safe everyone

stue not into politics and not bothered with them, And being from Hackney there was so many different cultures races and religions when i was growing up, i'm English always said i'm English but not racist its what i am and proud of it with all the above. I think the main problem with racism is "perceived racism". I'm not saying it doesn't exist because we all know racism does, but it's the "perceived" slights that annoy me. Two people are discussing something and one of them says something. Then a 3rd party, not involved in the conversation, tells everyone that one of the people is racist, despite the fact that neither person being spoken to is bothered by what is said!! How does that work?
