not a bad mark up for just giving it a wash
Macie_UK replied to bladerunner's topic in The Pub "Tinker and Budget"
still some mark up though Dealers have to make a living though guv' I'd have thought that clearing [1] a grand on a bike of that value would be a bare minimum need for a dealer to be honest. And punters will always be willing to pay more from them than from joe public, just like cars. If you got what you wanted for yours, then it's all good mate [1] Sometimes they will do a lot of prep work, sometimes none, and HMRC will also want their slice of the profit. But they also have to factor in the wide boy builders that want to trade in their 15 year old Bandit and insist it's worth two grand -
Can't see the point TBH, if you are going to carry it on the bike. Most stuff is covered by 10,12,14,17mm all do-able with a 3/8 ratchet. OK you would want a 1/2 inch for your 27, 32mm whatever sprocket nut / axle nuts, but how often do they need tightening mid ride-out? It's a 'no' from me and filed in the gimmick box

Mallory park, another one for the nimbys
Macie_UK replied to bladerunner's topic in The Pub "Tinker and Budget"
Wouldn't surprise me if BARC said " it" and sold up. Mallory have been suffering increasing pressure from the locals for about a year - most weekend track days to 95dB and reduced operating hours, Wednesday test days have to finish at 4.30 etc. The MX track (which apparently was quite good and hosted some fair sized events) was also forced to close a couple of months ago. It would be nice if for once a Council grew a spine and told the moaning halfwits to shut the up, but it didn't happen at Donington, Snetterton, Croft, Elvington, Darley Moor et al so the chances of that are slim. 2000 houses, with half filled by previously-evicted HA tenants, a Tesco extra complex and a permanent traveller camp are what they deserve, but by then the spiteful bitch main driving force behind the pressure group will have finally sold her house for enough money to fund her facelift. -
