  1. You could always eat more pies But you're right, you need the springs sorting first.
  2. Not a bad guide but I'd really disagree with the "adjusting the preload equally" bit - as this doesn't account for differing spring rates. Setting the sag *will* make a difference to your bike from stock settings, and if you are tinkering please please please go for a fifteen minute ride on your bike first to warm up the forks and shock - it makes a big difference to judging the settings - and if you set the rebound cold, your bike will be like a pogo stick when on a ride!
  3. Top marks for the resto and the video dude with extra man points for reassembling it in your living room
  4. Yes it does, I think it's great, but you would hate it.... FS365 needs re-applying, so I didn't see much benefit over WD40 - if you are going to wash and re-treat your machine every week then it is for you. ACF50 on the other hand will stay stuck for a whole winter of riding and collects loads of muck and goes black. Ideal if you wash your bike twice a year.
  5. Yeah I know, that's why I was keen to go this year
  6. New fangled smartphone type thing (I'll try not to leave it on the roof of the car/in a pit garage/at the side of a road/unknown like the 6 I went through this year ) Some tickets for gigs, 3x750g tins of Nescafe, 4 bottles of JD but best of all some COFFEE CREAMS
  7. I was hoping to go to one of the NCH gigs gut they were sold out. Seen 'em a fair few times over the years, were never the same after Jacka left.
  8. Still can't believe you turned down that job on Christmas Day
  9. Well, a month cover with ebike is probably cheaper than getting the bike shifted by a bike mover. Then again, the £££ you save with the x% reduction for the security devices might be less than temp cover so may be a moot point (having Datatag saved me a whole £9 on the Triumph). As others have said, no your policy won't cover you - even if the current owner still has a valid policy, as the bike is now technically yours - although I suspect a lot of people take that particular risk. If the owner hasn't got live insurance it'll flag up if passing plod do a MID check and you'll be in a world of misery mate. Worth a call to your current insco, but if they won't help you out, you could get a quote with the security mods and one without - and if it's a big enough difference just insure it as though it already has them.
  10. I think you're dead easy to get on with. Then again, I've never asked for a quote May I respectfully suggest some pointers for Jockland: 1) Everything South of Oban is mostly crap, so do the getting there bit in a day. So as that will only leave you 3 days for playing you need to decide whether you want to cover lots of ground, or take the time to enjoy riding the good bits. 2) Remoter bits like the Ardnamurchan peninsular will see you struggle to average 30MPH. The North East is bleak, desolate and not inspiring at all, and don't think that Kintyre looks interesting - it's dull and flat. If I was going for fun, I'd say concentrate on the West coast between Oban and Ullapool. 3) The road right across the top is splendid, if you're up that far then do it rather than cut inland, but don't make a special journey just for that. 4) Ullapool - Applecross - Locharron is an utterrly great run. 5) Unless you' going for a lap of the place then it might be best to base yourself somewhere and have 3 days out and back. 6) B&Bs can be a bit steep - the last one I stayed in was £110 for a double, but they can charge that when the 'aint a Premier Inn for a hundred miles 7) If it's decent weather you will want to go back for longer.

  12. Not the best start to her week but good that everyone is OK - as others have said it could have been a lot worse. Hope the InsCos sort it out quickly mate.
