  1. God can relate to your empty nest. He was without His Son for awhile. Just know that God knows how long you can go without someone around who can relate. So when things are seeming to get to be more than you can bear, God will send someone to you right on time to encourage and strengthen you. He created us to be social people, so He isn't going to leave you without anyone to relate to. Love you, and hang in there. PS My daughter got married in May and moved away, not far...a different city, nevertheless she moved and I missed her greatly. The missing is lessening, but I suppose it will never completely go away. We just learn to live with it and rejoice in their happiness.
  2. Thank you so much for your effectual fervent prayers! God worked miraculously. DeShawn's infection is under control. He is on antibiotics that work well in his system. His fever has completely gone and he is rehydrated. He has been released from the hospital and is home with prescription antibiotics! ALL glory to God who is just too good for words!
  3. Please pray for my grandson DeShawn. He is in the hospital receiving massive amounts of antibiotics trying to get an infection of unknown cause under control. He is 8. Thank you in advance. ~Marian
  4. Angelwings, I pray God will strengthen you until He sends the practical words of wisdom you need to overcome. They are on their way. God is faithful to His own. I sent you a message.
  5. That's cool, white shadow. My snippets/phrases usually last a while too, except for the "Stop in the name of love" one. Only needed to hear that one once! For me, it's nice to hear that other's experience the same thing. And also, there just might be someone out there wondering why these thoughts are coming to their mind when they have been trying to avoid "secular" music, and all the while it is FatherGod trying to talk to them.
  6. So, back to the question. Has God ever spoken to any of you out there through like a snippit of a secular song? For me, it's always just a snippet just before I wake up. I'd really like to hear from some of those He has, It would be interesting to hear what He said to you. Just trying to carry on a conversation here in the "fellowship" hall.
  7. Glad you discerned that I am more discerning than that.
  8. I found my password. I'll look you up now. You can look me up if you like, Marian.
  9. If I ever find my password, I'll look you up. So many passwords just gets on my nerves. Technology can be a pain sometimes. But, it also helps to keep the brain sharp, so I thank the Lord for it and deal with it with grace.
  10. Never stop doing what God impresses you to do unless He stops impressing you to do it. I hope that during the past year you've received wise counsel from others to help you with your problems. Grace and Peace to you.
  11. Find an easier version of the bible, online perhaps, and start with that. But since this post is over a year old, I surely hope you've established a bible reading habit of some sort by now. However, if you haven't, like I said, try an easy reading version to get you in the habit. Most importantly, ask God to stir up in you the desire to read HIS word. The enemy of our souls will do his best to keep all desire to read the word of God suppressed. Also, no matter how good a movie is, it has probably taken some liberties with the script and added in some stuff that is NOT true. So if you don't already know the truth, you'll take in some info as the truth, and when you actually find out the truth, then you're going to have to wash out the lies. Grace and Peace to you. Hope to hear from you one day that you love reading the Lord's word.
  12. So Sister in Christ, how is tweeting going for you? I joined in Jan of 2012 and then haven't checked back in for like 6 months. I think I'll search for my password and try it again. Maybe this time, I'll be successful in using it as a ministry tool. Are you using yours as a ministry tool, or just for fun?
  13. My song for the day. Hope it blesses someone as it has blessed me. It's called "Trust His Heart" by Babbie Mason. All things work together FOR our good, even the things that don't feel or seem so good. Trust Him. God's heart is beautiful.
  14. I didn't recognize the title so I looked it up on youtube. I like that song too.
  15. Does God ever speak to you through portions of secular music? Generally, when He does in my life, it's right before I'm fully awake in the morning. I don't intentionally listen to secular music. Can't avoid it in stores, movies etc. Anyway, sometimes God speaks to me through PORTIONS of secular music. Old music. Like once He told me "Stop in the name of love, before you break My heart" - Supremes I think. I got the message and repented/straightened up. Another time He told me, "there's something 'bout your love, that makes me weak and knocks Me off my feet" - Stevie Wonder. See, I told you they were old. Anyway, it's nice to hear Him tell me He likes my love for Him. Here's a current one. Try not to laugh. In one commercial there's this one lady standing at a keyboard singing "This girl is on fire!" I thought she had a really nice voice and wondered if she was a famous singer or just someone doing a commercial. :-) I asked my kids if they knew who she was if anybody famous. It was Alicia Keyes for those who haven't seen the commercial or heard the song. I still wouldn't recognize her today if I met her on the street. Told ya I don't listen to secular music.Anyway, God spoke to me "This girl is on fire" in regards to something He was/is teaching me. That was so cool! So, back to the question. Does God or has He ever spoken to you through portions of secular music? I know I'm not the only one. Hey!!!! Maybe these are musical visions... although I've never heard of such a thing. God can get His point across anyway He chooses. Right? Right.
  16. Today my favorite is once again "With All My Heart" by Babbie Mason. There are a few others ringing in my mind off and on, but "With All My Heart" is topping the list for today. What's your favorite song (what's speaking to your heart) today or this week or right at this very moment?
  17. I started learning about 30 years ago and still haven't learned. Guess I should actually make an effort. How are you doing at it? Making any progress? There are loads of videos on youtube that can be of help to you. One of my daughters took a class in highschool and the rest is pretty much self taught. She is currently the worship leader in my ministry.
  18. My heart is happy/joyful that you are a 100% believer in God. Do you believe in Jesus and have faith in Him too? James 2:19 tells us that the demons believe too and tremble. But they can't be saved/born again. I just want you to be sure you have Jesus in your heart and if you do, that you seek to be an obedient child of God . So, keep listening for His voice, and pray to be obedient to what He speaks to you. Blessings of grace and peace to you.
  19. We, the children of the Most High King are spirit beings, that live in a body and have a soul. As born again believers, we are the BRIDE of CHRIST (Not shouting, just emphasizing), the SPOUSE of Christ. Now sexually deviant demonic spirits might be tormenting the souls of believers, but they will never be the "spirit" husband/wife of any believer. Tormentors of their Christian souls? ...Definitely possible. But spirit spouse to any believer, tommy rot and hogwash. The devil has a family, with children and he is the father of it. John 8:44. Demons who work through sexual activity can and do torment the spirtits of those who are a part of their family. And nonbelievers are part and parcel of the family of wickedness. So if unbelievers want to say that they have a demon as a "spirit spouse", so be it. Their spirits belong to the evil one. As far as the Genesis 6 scriptures, used to support the "spirit spouse" teaching, I’ve heard teachings on it, but I choose not to agree with it. I choose to believe that the “sons of God”, Ge.6:2 refers to the godly descendents of Seth (Seth's godliness mentioned in Ge 4:25,26) And the daughters of men, Ge.6:2 refers to the ungodly, but beautiful descendents of the ungodly line of Cain, or the Cainites. Ge.6:4 talks about their offspring being “Nephilim (bully, tyrant, giant ) and mighty men”. (Seth and his descendents represent God and godliness. Cain and his descendents represent man and ungodliness.) In today’s world, people still have children of unnatural height without having “relations” with demons. So I see no reason to believe the giant offspring were being born due to demonic relations here in chapter 6. All that being said, demons whose main job is to pervert the sexual act that was created for husband and wife, CAN torment the "souls" of Christians, but cannot be married, or spouses of, the Bride of Christ. One wonderful thing though, when a sinner becomes born again, they are dead to the old spouse and become espoused to Christ. They can’t even become a part of the bride of Christ without the former spouse dying first. Rom 7:1-6 Blessings of Grace and Peace.
