  1. I know the feeling all too well. trying to stay positive is not always an easy task, but we can do it. A little bit of laughter and Tiddly Winks sending Falcor a few gift bombs.
  2. Rocky top you'll always be home sweet home to me. Hehehe.
  3. This title sounds like a movie title. 'Falcor Reloaded' and it did make me smile. I'm so glad you're back.

    Moving?

She's got a ton of laptops, they are easy to move. But, yeah, Portland is such a lovely place, I so sympathize Stas. I'm hugging you real tight.
  5. Thanks Lisa, that really means a lot to me. I have been really feeling down about this since we got back. Last week, Sven didn't send out any applications, but the rejetions kept coming in. It's horrible for him, he's spent ten years of his life studying and working his tail off, then reunification happened here and the plethora of jobs simply dried up. Some people say that the Berlin wall coming down was a historical event of massive consequence. It was, but the consequences were that highly qualified people were forced to go abraod or wait in the unemployment line. I should be lucky, because it was when he was working in the USA when we met, but still, it's very disheartening. Now the government here has basically given people like Sven the shaft.
  6. Thank you Lazar, that means a lot to both of us.
  7. As most of you know, my husband lost his job on the first of May and it's now been close to three months since that happened. We're still without work, and Sven is quickly losing any optimism that things will get better or that he will find something. Part of the problem is ithat he is 48 years old, has a PhD in Chemistry, and a Masters in Mineralogy. To the people at companies, he's either too old, overqualified, or wants a kang's ransom for a salary. Thus far, he has had one interview that did not reap anything except the experience of having been on one. The rejection letters are starting to pile up here, and I am running out of encouraging words to say. We are trying just about every outlet we can, even the weird or outrageous. I have told him that perhaps we should consider leaving Germany and that in other places people actually do hire older people for jobs. He says that then we may have to learn another language. Well, I learned German, so I could learn another language if I had to. I'm not looking for advice, I'm just letting you all know how things are going on that front.
  8. Trader is really really full. Please come adopt some pets. There's a bigger sized dog (Snoopy), several large and small cats, and a blue colored dino. Please adopt these pets.
  9. I hate it when people do that. I really do. Hope you will be alright.
  10. I hope that this gets resolved. It's beyond a silly prank. But, yeah, I like the idea of being childlike, but this is beyond childish.
  11. Happy birthday and all the best to you.
  12. Is there a chance that this woman has been doing this to other people? I mean; if there is something being done like that, then it is not easy to hide, specifically with the bad smell. Even if nothing can be done, I'd still contact the police about it and file a report. If this woman has a lot of enemies, then she may be doing this to other people, not just your mother. Weird people...to go to such lengths is so junior high. I guess growing old is manatory but growing up is optional.

    Silly me

Just moved this to the cafe. But, no that's not happened to me yet.
  14. I've heard of people with a monkey on their back, now the pets will have monkeys on their heads. Heheh.
  15. Me too, ribbit ribbit ribbit. He's cute. Hopefully I can get one.
  16. Thanks, and yes, Kokonee, Knuddling is good (that's actually from the German translation of 'cuddling' that we sort of reworded). Oh and the dress isn't one I made, although it is the same color as the one you saw when we were in Portland.
  17. I would respond to that with a joke, but you know me. But, when you mentioned Pepto Bismol, I laughed.
