  1. But the lube, whether oil, wax or the 'dry' stuff all attract dirt and grit and giving the chain a regular clean won't hurt. I clean mine fairly regularly these days, but I will admit to only cleaning the chain thee times in 40,000 miles on an old ZZR. Don't see why not, I've had one
  2. I'd like to go back and have a play in Northern Spain (sort of above Lerida, so N260 and Pyrenees) or somewhere East of Lyon and go and mooch around the Alps, but to me the 'getting there' bit is no longer any fun at all. In fact, if I ever went there again with the bike, I'd more than likely chuck the 2 or 3 bikes in the van and get there in that.
  3. Probably about right mate, last time I did a lap of Spain it cost me well over 2K
  4. Done. I didn't realise that they have to also buy their gear / meds off whoever, rather than being supplied by the NHS - crazy.
  5. It is, but the cafe is a bit pants. As Madsod said, when you walk/drive around the track you can't help but think that you're not on a track, but the entrance road to some camp site. Want to go back and watch a race there
  6. Not local, but I can highly recommend Triple S 'ooop Norf: http://www.triple-s.co.uk/
  7. I was expecting to read a post about high CO emissions.....
  8. Yeah some do. Laddos ZX6R even needs a modified coolant header tank fitting. Then again I wouldn't be without the R&Gs
  9. She has me, what more could she possibly want? Also agree with Stu, practical is the way to go - I once bought the ex a cement mixer for her birthday...
  10. Ooh, will check those out tomorrow, as mine is due and current lot want an extra grand to put small child on as a driver....
  11. Does that price include making it look pretty?
  12. I looked at this a couple of years ago Dave and if you do it as and when as a sideline it's worth a go. Doing it all legit is a whole new kettle of worms - a few grand for the relevant environmental licences is just the start. Biggest problem is getting hold of the bikes at the right money and quantity. Sometimes I think it's worth buying a straight bike and chucking it down the road for a profit looking at some of the prices of salvage bikes Buying directly from the insurers was the ideal, but most now only deal with one of the two or three clearing/auction firms - and you can spend a wee while laughing at the bids on C****t. The insurers that will sell to you mostly want a guarantee that you will take *all* their bikes within a certain radius, usually including collection & storage of the bikes that haven't cleared yet. Yes you can run up a list of parts prices on your chosen bike and think there is a bomb to be made, but rock up to Lester's and see how much unsold stock they have kicking about. Then again, you did flog those used car ramps at 3x retail, so you do have a talent
  13. There's loads of similar ads on ebay (which FWIW really get my goat up) and although the wording is a bit tighter I reckon you have nothing to worry about Chad. Even if you put "You are bidding on 1 dust cap only" in bright red at the top of the listing in 400 point font you still get the odd licker that can't read or comprehend. Technically the buyer may wish to sue you for breach of contract but the wording in your listing *is* the terms of the contract which the buyer agrees to by bidding. From Ebay Terms & Conditions: "When a buyer places the successful bid on an item or clicks “Buy It Now”, the two parties will have entered into a legally binding contract. The terms of the contract are set out in the seller’s listing and in agreeing to buy the goods or services the buyer is accepting those terms." In a nutshell: CHILL OUT
  14. Never mind mate, you will have a ball - after all you got all the old fogey stuff out of the way in your forties Anyway, a couple of things to help you with the interim years: http://www.saga.co.uk/ http://goo.gl/h9aOM http://goo.gl/HqcVp
  15. Hmmm, 1978, singles with a big hole in the middle that you had to put a plastic clip in so it would sit on your mono record player..... Sweet - Love is like oxygen. In my defence your honour, I was still in single digit years and it was less embarrassing than the second single that I bought that year - Sarah "silver catsuit" Brightman.
  16. Bugger, if that was the 'Skorpion Sport Tour' I'd have had his hand off By the way if anyone is vaguely interested, these have the Yamaha 660cc engine from the XT (same as my old MZ Baghera) so are easy peasy to maintain.
  17. I know exactly what you mean Dave, it's a horrible feeling when you get a phone call saying your lad is having a close up view of an air ambulance , and it worries me every time the kids are out on a bike. That said, I think that if they are old enough to have a licence then they are old enough to make the decision themselves. I mitigated by reasoning that if they want a go on a bike then they will just go pillion with someone which I could hardly stop - in which case I would much sooner have them trained, licensed and in control of a bike than perched of the back of some muppet who is trying to show off their heroics.
  18. Thanks all <small voice> but it was only my "official" birthday - I always just bang in 01/01 as a DOB on websites Love n hugs anyway xxx
  19. Hmmm Dave doing a remake of the "I want to break free" video?
