  1. Just a bit of random chat we were doing on another forum. Where / How did you find your bike ? Bike shop? Friend? family? Ebay? Local paper? Bike mag? forum member? side of the road? other ?
  2. Looking good. Is it normal to do it so quick ? The guy who does mine always lets it sit for a while, not sure if that's to harden/cure?
  3. I wonder if folk see the Busa dragbike / ghostrider / landspeed thing and think they are buying into the legend, in a way it's like boring old men thinking they're outlaws on a piece of crap Harley. I've met a few Busa owners well out of their depth! One thing that go's against the ZX12 is the 1400 Kwak. Folk think the 12 is old / small but personally I'd take the 12R over the 1400 myself.
  4. Nice work there. Your making it "your" bike....
  5. Here's another one Ben just put together. (only running low boost, plenty more in it) 250hp Streetfightered R1....
  6. Found a pic: I was struggling to get any interest in this at $5500AU. A similar age/condition Busa would have been snapped up at $7500/$8000. Great bike.......
  7. I'm sure I have a spare pair. Free, but you'll have to collect them....
  8. They are,but sometimes in life having 2nd best just isn't enough. Which is why I now own a ZX12 - KawaMike!!!! I had one last year. Very clean and beautiful Blue. Dropped the price well below Busa bottom book and still had trouble shifting it. A lot of fun and great value, a Busa is more streamline and has more tuning potential but to be honest the ZX is Ideal for 99% of folk who aren't petrol heads.
  9. 2nd that I know of. But it gets a harder life than most folks bikes. It was crashed at the drags, done some long distance runs with boys weekends away and generally only comes out to be abused ! To see one of Australia's best Streetfighters turn up with stone chips and dead flys is very cool. Ben's a top bloke and very helpful .

  11. To quote the words of Samuel L Jackson from the movie Jackie Brown........... Accept No Substitute
  12. Not used PR2's but PR3's are good. I use either PR3's or Sportmax SportSmart's. Fairly sticky and stand up OK to the B-King or Busa's weight, horsepower and brakes.
  13. Oh you poor buggers, try working on the Qld / NSW border when NSW put their clocks back but Qld never have. Job in one town, office and workers in another, hour difference. Does my bloody head in !
  14. There was a story several years a go about a farmer in Wales (as several of my family are) who was on one of the flight paths. He'd get one or two real low every week. One day he cracked the shits and painted in huge letters on his barn roof.. f**k OFF RAF. After that he started getting several a day !.....
  15. All models have a degree of "parts swapping" but Yam are nowhere near as good as Suzuki or Kawasaki. The Zed's and Gpz's and Suzuki's GS/GSX/GSXR/GSF range are just big boys meccano. Ridden several V-Max's (the one's that hadnt already spat 2nd gear out) I thought they were over rated, but i've never been a fan of cruisers. Shaft drive and odd size wheels dont help. Cant argue with that ! I've always thought Suzuki had poor build quality. Many parts have a cheap feel to them and using stickers where other makes use chrome badges, or big thick edged stickers instead of a 2nd paint colour, Using adjustable levers one side and not the other ! The finish is certainly not a quality job. Motors are the Mutt's Nut's though...
  16. Stue, I've had my share of Honda/kwak/Yam and a few other brands, but I'm not real gentle on my toys and a bit slack on my servicing. Suzuki's are great for mix and match with parts between models and are a bit harder to kill. They just suit me.
  17. I've seen snow ! I think it was 8 or 9 years a go.
  18. Stue, There are 4 basic groups that all motorcycles fall into. 1: AIRCOOLED chaindrive 4 cylinder Suzuki's over 1000cc... 2: OILCOOLED chaindrive 4 cylinder Suzuki's over 1000cc... 3: WATERCOOLED chaindrive 4 cylinder Suzuki's over 1000cc... 4: Other stuff that is either slow, fragile, heavy, boring, much too sensible or lacks tuning potential...
  19. Around here I think it's law that if you buy a cruiser you have to ware an open face, 200 badges and lace up leather jeans. All cruiser riders MUST by law, dress up like big stupid gay pirates !
  20. ZZR V Busa ? ZZR if your going to turn the key and ride it. Happy with what you have and leave it stock. Busa if you want to hot it up. Looks or performance. 13 years of R&D. HUGE aftermarket following. Everything from luggage, bodywork, streetfighter bits, Turbo's, Nitrous, swingarms wheels to billet blocks and long throw cranks. The Busa is a cult bike and the one to have for the drags, dyno shootouts, landspeed racing and the motor is the lump of choice for micro-racecars, hill climbers etc. The ZZR may be a better bike out of the box, I agree. The Busa is a legend for what it did in 1999. No one rembers who came along "a little bit better". Maybe your not a dragracer, but it still show's what a tough old motor they have....
  21. It wasnt that hot (by Aussie Standards) today, but with storms around the humidity was sky high. I went to work for two hours, didnt smell real nice by the time I got back..
  22. Weather man said 33c (91.5f) today. Like bloody hell it was. Try wearing leathers, sitting on a big bike, stuck in the traffic trying to get through the city.
  23. Not owned many small Honda's but often used to hire them when I was over in Cyprus. Normaly 185's, They really suit the hire-bike roll, tough and go off road / beach / tracks.
  24. Even if you own much bigger, better, faster bikes, it doesnt mean your GS500 doesnt need a Turbo, Fuel injection system, and USD front end...
