  1. Told Bron that we'd go halves, but she said finish off the 1400 and get it serviced. She's a bloody legend. Love her!
  2. You wouldn't bloody believe it !! Went down local country pub in Imbil, Having an evening meal, bloke selling Raffle tickets, Mrs go's to get $10 worth and I say get me a $10 worth too. 1st BLOODY PRIZE!!!!! $1100 / £700 !!! It had been a roll over for several weeks. Locals didn't look real impressed.
  3. Cheers Dave. Not sure how to post pics from an Iphone. Last go.
  4. Beautiful weather. Mrs took Friday off work, Went for a long drive. Rented a cottage next to the river. Enjoy your weekend Folks.
  5. I've only had a couple of bikes with 16" front wheels. A little different, not the end of the world, something you can get used too. Although there's better tyre choice in 17" you shouldnt have a drama getting 16's. I always thought they felt more sensitive to tyre wear, preasure settings and brands / choice, but that might just have been me ? Im looking for a GSX1100EF, the best/last of the air-cooled GSX11's (bigger 1135cc/better internals) funny enough they had a 16" front wheel too.
  6. Blades and ZX9R's are both good bike, both popular with streetfighters out here as they make great projects and are affordable as well as being quick and tough. In its day the Blade was the King of the Hill. Up to then you either had a big fast bike, or a smaller, less powerful bike. It put 1000cc performance in a 600 size bike. Like the Z900/CB750/GSXR750/R1/Hayabusa the early blade is a biking landmark. Its popular the stick the VFR single sider into the blade, although recently a few folk have been breaking them up to put the 900 Blade motor into FZR400's. Same with the ZX9R's, a few are getting broken to put the engine into ZXR750's, its an off the shelf conversion. (the Blade/FZR isnt!) Ben did mention he'd sell his ZX9R ......
  7. I got told by a GS500 owner that Busa's don't handle and you can't go fast or far without a fairing (B-King) but he thought GS500's were great !
  8. Your not a fan of B-Kings then ? Same motor, longer wheelbase ?
  9. I dont "hate" bikes because they dont suit me. That would be silly.
  10. I guess thats where we are different. I'd hate to be able to use ALL the power, that would mean I was pushing and straining my bike to its absolute limit. More than I ever need means I can pick my speed and do it with ease and the bike gets an easy life, which is how many Busa/King/ZX riders ride. Its good your happy with your bike...
  11. I think you'll find that most of the new top end bikes make plenty of torque, My Busa and B-King would make more than a Chunder Ace. I like lots of bikes, from little SV650's, to old Zed's and Kat's and a thousand others, but the idea that high performance bikes arent useable is utter nonsense. Fact.
  12. The Triumph looks very tidy, but im a sucker for a Suzuki, Bandit looked fun.
  13. You keep saying "high powered" That's one part of a modern bike, What makes them so nice is the grunt off the line, the huge torque, the excellent mid range. I know guys wih Busa's who rarely speed, the low to mid range makes bikes like the Busa/ZZR14/ZX12R/B-King etc etc a joy to ride. The difference between reving the tits off a 1300cc car, or haveing lazy V8 grunt. Funny how your amount of power is great, but those with more have too much ? You love the torque of your bike, yet those nice new bikes with more are only any good for a race track ? You sound silly...
  14. Some folk have strange idea's... If a rider has any ability, there bike will (within its ability) make as much or as little horsepower as their right hand tells it too. My bike makes exactly as much as yours when i want it to, the difference being I have extra on call when I require it. As I was told long a go, they dont make bikes "too big or too powerful" They only make riders who lack ability. You seem keen to put down others rides ? Perhaps I should have a go ? Have you done 10's of thousands of miles on bikes with good USD forks ? modern radial brakes ? fully re-mappable ECU's ? 160+hp ? 100ft/lb or torque ? Multiple engine modes ? Back torque limiters ? Maybe if you had, you'd realise the Chunderace is decidedly average and quite dated.
  15. Not sure why you'd think that. I've ridden both and put in serious miles with current owners. Both great bikes and both very useable even at legal / sensible speeds. Yes, both total overkill as means of transport, but both huge fun and excellent at what they do. A 10 year old bike is still a lot of fun, but the BMW and Busa are a huge step forward, and the improvements are very noticeable. Not knocking older bikes, I have an 81 and a 99, love them both for what they are, but the new stuff is bloody good and useable.
  16. I want something that go's a bit harder. Maybe not faster, just more horsepower. Give me time. I'm working on it.
  17. Had a guy come around and do the Safety Cert (MOT) Went to department of transport and registered it, Paid for Rego (tax) and picked up it new number plate. Phoned up insurance and added it to my policey. Went out to play.
  18. The 1620 kit costs the same as the 1400 cost brand new !! Still hasnt stopped a few folk doing it though... http://ptr.com.au/engine-packages I know one guy with the 220hp B-King kit by PTR, the thing is excellent,
  19. Is that the one that was owned by "Maggs / Maggys" ? He was selling a 1550 to get a BMW tourer. I know a couple of folk out here with 1620's. More money and work though, although the results are very impressive. Busa type horsepower with 25% more torque than a Busa too. From what i've read the 1550 is a good size to go for.
  20. ...and an older clip. Brisbane City Centre...
  21. Little local car up at the local strip....
  22. Good clip. The guy at 1m 20s was the best, nice and smooth. One of my favorite quotes, from an older guy on an early 900 Fireblade... "I've never got my knee down, but i often have to wait for those who can"...
