  1. Have you put a new hydralic clutch line in a Hayabusa recently ? Removing both top yolks (Busa has 2) not too bad. Removing the ignition lock wasnt as easy, one of the anti-tamper bolts was rounded off inside. Re-routing the cables to the switches and the choke (fast idle) cable wasnt hard. Fitting and bleeding both brake lines was OK (I went 2 full lines, 1 from the master to each caliper, no splitter) The clutch is part flexi-rubber and part rigid steel, wasnt the easiest job to do.
  2. I didnt want to take Stan's thread too far , so i'll post it in here. A Hayabusa that's had a few mod's to it by another ASF member out here, Ben, from "Extreme Creations" in Sydney. "This is a Gen 1 hayabusa streetfighter we've just built for a customer it features a Gen 2 radial front end, 08 R6 tail & satin black paint all over" http://www.extremecreations.com.au/
  3. Plenty of kits to lower the pegs. Lots of folk use Buell footpegs, or theres kits like these... http://www.whaccessories.com/FootPegLoweringKit.htm I've never bothered as I find neither Busa's B-Kings have a great deal of clearance with the stock ones. Personal taste.
  4. New top yolk and traditional bars is my personal choice. Not the cheapest or easyest though. There are several kits to raise the standard bar's. Either using longer mounting castings with the original straight clip-on, or ones such as Heli-bars that use the original casting and use a clip-on with a "step" in it. http://www.helibars.com/product/gsx-1300r-hayabusa-08-09 I would add that there is nothing REALLY wrong with the Busa's riding position, lots of folk just need to put some miles in and get used to it. If (like me) it then doesnt suit you, its quite easy to change it to more upright. (and have a better bike than a B-King.. )
  5. Havent watched an F1 race in years. Used to, but find it impossible to get interested now.
  6. The screen looks like a "double bubble" raised in the centre. Although I dont like chrome screens the double bubble's are worth having. If your anywhere near 6-foot tall and lean forward when being a "bit sporty" you cant see the top's of the clocks otherwise!
  7. Thats bloody nice Stan. Id be REAL happy to have that in the shed. If it was mine i'd re-fit the grab rail, get rid of the chrome screen, and keep my eye out for an original rear guard. One thing lots of Busa folk do is to grind or cut 2 slots into the single seat hump, so they can leave the grabrail on with the hump. Dont know why ? too f#ckin' lazy to unbolt it ? It just looks poor taste to me. On our Aussie Busa site there are a few folk who dont want later models and pay good money and are proud of their copper/gold '99 Gen1's.
  8. I had 2 at one time, an 02 and an 04. I couldnt live with the low / forward bars at the time. Changed one to higher bars. There are lots of kits and conversions and they work well. I know to a few done for touring. With raised slightly pulled bar bars and lower Buell pegs they are a totaly different bike if you want to do high mileage or have comfort issue's.
  9. He had the stock "Burnt Gold" wheels same as Dave's, He bought chrome Hayabusa wheels cheap from the US. I put his old wheels into mine.
  10. Was a good day.... No one died or went to jail ! .... A nice mixed bunch with some fun toys and a few "spirited" riders.
  11. Went out for a play with a few friends. Entertaining little ride, One very upset cop, (road block followed by a pursuit!) some "interesting" roads with mini-creek crossings, a good feed, decent weather, and a very bent Aprillia (rider walked away but has a damaged ankle)
  12. Well done Mr Madsod. Whatever you taste or choice, its a good topic and folk should seriously think about one. Trust me !!!
  13. Wasnt keen on anything cable tied on, and didnt want slim and flimsy. I wanted a chunky solid look. Went with the "Radguard" brand on both my Busa and B-King. I have been told they wont flow enough air and will cook the motor. Wrong. 20+ run's at the drags in an Australian heatwave, 8 years use on 2 Busa's and a B-King, Stuck in city traffic jams in Summer, Temp is no different to a standard bike.
  14. Mine's in another thread, but here again..... My little shed isn't finished, might never be, council wont let me have anything bigger than 20 foot x 30 foot as we are too close to the city. I will get a good bike shed in a year or 2 when we move again.... ...untill then..... Mine.
  15. After a good long, fast, thrash... I thought it was just the oil from the leaky cam cover gasket dripping down onto the 4-into-1 collecter and burning.... ....no ? Just me then....
  16. I suppose if you've only got 75% of the required amount of cylinders, you can always make it up with a bit of "boost"....
  17. I like the tunnel, although they did threaten to ban us. They loaded the bikes from the rear of the train, and parked them at the front, so you ride the length of the train inside it. A couple of us got a bit "competitive" riding the length of the train. De-restricted ZZR11 with open pipes scared the f*ck out of their staff....
  18. 22 grown men chasing a rubber ball around a field. Its not a sport, its just grown up's playing a kids game.
  19. Very tidy bike... Looking good..... I did a Before and after pic, but my mods are very subtle, If you look very closely, I now have blue valve cap's....
  20. Never been a Duck fan. Always seemed overpriced and fragile to me. Last one I took out (a demo model) I broke and limped it back with bent chain adjusters and a rear wheel out of line... That oil-cooled GSX streetfighter is a real mix of parts but looks a lot of fun...
  21. The rear indicator lenses take a few seconds to change. The front one's have been known to keep people busy a little longer the first time they do them....
