They may have originaly had a H shift. Some car engined bikes did. One trick is the run a cable to a lever on the bars, or a solenoid wired up to a switch, that moves the shift LEFT to RIGHT. Foot moves gears backwards / forwards for 1st and 2nd, Lever or Solenoid knocks the lever across, then foot choses between 3rd and 4th. Sounds complicated but most car engined bikes have huge amounts of torque so they are less fussy about which gear they are in.

Not a fan of tupperware, but a "double bubble" raised screen is a good choice for the Hayabusa. If I kept my weight forward when riding a little on the sporty side, I couldnt see the top half of the clocks with the stock screen, Several others have said the same thing. I put raised screens on both mine.... If I ever get a Gen2 it'll be one of the 1st mod's...

NICE ! I was ecpecting it to be one of the horrid GS1000 shaft drives, but thats real nice. Never owned one, and not high on my list, but that would make a great Wes Cooley replica. Id go a little later and look for a ET, EX, or a Katana 1000 or 11 or even an 1135EF. Much nicer bikes but still "Old Skool Cool"

what did you do with your bike today ? Battery charger on Hayabusa, started it, air in the tyres, lubed the chain, thought "I really should use it more". Battery charger on Bandit 1200, started it, air in the tyres, lubed the chain, thought "I really should use it more". Looked at the GSX1100 and thought... "I really should... OH F@ck!, now I remember, that one caught fire!!"..... -

Lots of morning services, parades and marches. Its good to remember. My future farther-in-law is a Vietnam vet. All taken very seriously out here, unlike most Aussie hol's which are an excuse for a good BBQ and p#ss up ! I might be a Pommie but I still give thanks to the Aussie "Diggers"... I like the fact they made it a public holiday in their memmory.

Well done.. I like them. I had one for sale recently, had a few plays on it. They go real well, made a few more ponys than a Busa but the Busa crept away top end, (but only at VERY silly speeds) Better brakes than a Gen1 Busa. Nice riding position too. Wasnt keen on the frame being the airbox but thats not a drama unless you like chopping and changing stuff, pod filters or turbo. This was the one I had...
