  1. ... and one of the local boys filmed this out of his window. (click FULL SCREEN its a bit small)
  2. Not sure if thats true or not, but they sure do things a little different out here, This is a friend of a friend, out having a play in their 4 x 4's.....
  3. I dont want a visible feed either. Not keen on adding magnets and wires. I hope to use the GSX14's original feed from the front sprocket. Were the later oil-cooled (2nd shape) Bandits cable speedo's or electronic feed ? If I go modern USD/Radial front end on my 99 Bandit i'll lose the cable drive. I was hoping to find an oilcooled Suzuki that used a digital feed from the front sprocket and keep everything tidy and hidden.
  4. Im soon to fit new clocks to my 14. Digi, not cable drive. Not 100% sure but i think there are converters that change a cable drive to a digi signal, although you still need the cable. Maybe you could use a cover/pick-up unit from a later Bandit ? Were they cable drive or digi ? You can always lose the cable and use a little magnet as a sender front somewhere like the sprocket/disc/front or rear wheel. Im looking at the Koso as the Acewell 6000 series I wanted arent on sale yet. May even try a Busa/late Bandit 12 set as im sure a lot of the feeds will be compatable.
  5. Looks like he's spent a lot of time working to lose a lot of money....
  6. Mad GSX1400 with homemade frame by one of the guys on the streetfighter forum...
  7. Unless its a design fault on the bike, a pump should be better than someone trying to carry a bottle of oil and judging the mix at the pump. Mate in a shop said it was quite common to see "dry" pumps where kids had ran out, seized the motor, THEN topped up the tank.. How old is he ? Move him up to a 4-stroke thats a bit bigger ?
  8. I cant rember the exact figure what what the royal family costs each working person in the UK each year isn't very much. I know in 2009 or 2011 it was about 70p per head of the population per year. Even adding on poice and oversea's trips I wouldnt expect it to be far over a pound a year. They run a huge "business" with a lot of employee's in many rolls. Whilst they are seen as the ultimate rich Im not sure they have a lot of control over what they can sell/buy or do and unlike the rest of us, their always in the public eye. Like them or hate them, they are the best Tourist attraction the UK has and bring in a lot of US / Japanese / oversea's tourism. I sure as hell wouldnt want the job.
  9. That is do-able, Only downside is all our frames have a small registered "compliance" tag. I recently looked at two Bimota's, the one complianced was almost double the price of the other. You can import stuff for Race Only or Show Use but its very hard to then register it. A local shop has bought in a few Busa's cheap from Japan but they all ended up broken for parts or sold to drag racers.
  10. "The plastic boxes ARE NOT included in the auction" Dont you hate it when they keep all the best bits....
  11. Dont think I havent looked into it. When the pound was strong, our bikes looked real cheap, now the $ is strong its the other way around. To bring bikes into AU you either: Need to own and use them for a year, or the Bike needs to be Old / Classic, or it needs to be a model not sold here. Stops folk by-passing the importers. There are grey-imports but its not easy for the guy in the street to bring in a current model.
  12. "The auction starts at 99p" I've riden one, thats more than i'd be willing to pay!
  13. Pipes look a bit odd going up at a funny angle but thats an easy fix, very cheap !!! The black/Red Dennis the Menace colour doesnt seem as collectable as the copper / gold but i'd be VERY happy to have that sat here.
  14. Well done Lee. See if you can get an A/F ratio printout ? Dyno's are a great way to set up / check bikes and really get them running right. They are excellent tools. Not so good for quoting horsepower. LOTS of variables and very easy to get very different results on different machines on different days with different operators. Every operator will tell you THEIR machine is right. I've seen a bike riden from one dyno shop to another and lose 15 hp !! I've put a machine on a dyno I was selling and the operator asked how good did I want it to look ? I do like dyno's. I've entered a few Dyno shoot-outs that were fun, its all equal when running bikes back to back. Just dont take all the numbers as gospel. Must try the Busa again sometime....
  15. Had a go at polishing some of the alloy where the weather had "furred" the coating. Then pulled the (smashed) clocks off. Saved the mounting brackets, loom and a few bits and pieces. Just need to decide If I go aftermarket like Koso or Vapour, or maybe GSXR or Busa clocks.
  16. Lots of Turbo Busa's out here. I know to 5 or 6 in Brisbane. Mostly Gen1's. Stronger barrels and better (non-titanium) valves suit the turbo. One of the Aussie guys is going a different route. Later Gen2 1340 motor (same as a B-King) and he's building a hairy-scary 1507cc engine.
  17. In case anyone else is interested......... Something like this...... Only the lower of the two top clamps hold the forks so there's no safety issue's. With the forks set LOW you get higher bars. With the forks lifted UP you lower the front end.
  18. It may already have been done. Lots have. The spacers between the two top yolks are quite popular. Lots of folk do it so they can drop the yolks down the forks to lower the front for the drags as the higher of the two top yolks is to small to pull the forks up through.
  19. Yeah, you can buy it as an off the shelf kit. Its adapter plates to put the GSXR subframe onto the Busa and a new seat that fits the GSXR subframe and matches up to the Busa tank. Lot of money for a couple of parts as you still have to find all the Gixer tail parts but would make the job easy. http://www.cincinnatisuperbikes.com/Hayabusa-GSXR-1000-Tail-Conversion-p/gctc.htm
  20. Something else to consider with a Busa: Lots of folk have had them roll off the side stand. Its not really a design fault, just that early models as stock sit with the stand a little closer to "folding back" that some other makes and models. Its an easy fix. Lots of folk give the sidestand bracket "stop" a few brushes with a file and it folds past a little further. About 3/4 of the way down this page. Cost.... zero ! http://www.pashnit.com/hayabusa-mods.htm
  21. This is an early unfinished pic but its good to show it parked against my 04 stock bike.
