  1. Well done Chad. I love my BIG Suzuki inline-4's but the SV6 is one bike that i'd still be happy to own. Your doing a great job Mate...
  2. He built his Hayabusa / B-King after Suzuki released their concept show bike and then dragged their feet for several years before they released it to the public. I did a bit of research a while back and his "kit" to convert a Hayabusa was nice but at the time out of my price range. I like it, it should be a better bike is some ways, The Hayabusa is shorter, and has a decent fuel tank range. The Gen1 Busa its based on uses the original Busa engine, better in some ways, not in others. Only downside for me would be using the Gen1's 6-plop brakes, not a touch on the Kings radials. I still want one though...
  3. [quote="aceuggy"] Off to see Jethro Tull, but we stopped off for a drink along the way...
  4. Got me thinking.... # Had to have a little sleep half way around a Golf Course in Spain. # Got locked out on a 7th floor hotel balconey and chucked my ex over onto the next doors balconey as their door was open and she could then get down to reception through their room. # Waking up on a Golf Course in Newquay Cornwall (I'd started drinking in Kidderminster) # Standing in lifts for quite a while before someone came along told me to push the button. # Trying to get into half the front doors in the street at 4am as they all seemed to be mine. I can laugh now, but the list go's on and on, most id rather keep quiet about.
  5. On a more positive note, I used to spend between $50 and $60 a week on drink for the house, 24-pack of Beer and a bottle of Rum and a bottle of Vodka every Friday after work, (not counting any nights we went out to the pub/BBQ's etc) The first year I stopped drinking I bought a 1980 GSX1100 ET with my "beer money" The 2nd year I bought a 1999 1200 Bandit with my "beer money" I recently bought a GSX1400 purely with what would have been spent on drink.
  6. Last drink was the start of July 2007. I had a little problem with it and needed to stop. Im crap at doing stuff in moderation. I find it very easy to ignore stuff or to do it "full bore". Drink was full bore. A week became a month, then a few months, then I wanted to prove I could do a year. In 8 weeks time it'll be 5 years. I had some great times and wouldnt change the past, also had some real nightmares. I like drink, and dont mind others drinking, Its just that for me, its better if I dont.
  7. Fuel has got VERY expensive out here recently, Government looking into price fixing by the servo's, Just had an election too, the promices are that'll come down a little. Currently paying almost 90p a ltr for BP98 premium.
  8. Nice. Id rather buy that than the green "DogLondon" Bandit thats on Ebay.
  9. 48 and never owned a dog in my life, so its a bit of a learning curve for both of us !
  10. Mine was pretty wild when I got him last year. Belonged to the Mrs, but he didnt take much notice. Had to keep all gates / doors shut as he just ran riot over furniture or was off down the street. I've had him 4 months and now can leave the yard gates open when im putting bikes in/out without chaining him up, and he's a lot better in the house. Tought him to stay outside untill I say he's allowed to come in the house. Funny thing is, although im the only one who has shown him any disipline, without being cruel, he follows me everywhere and listens to me. I was told he needed an "Alpha Male" and others have said that Cattle dogs just respond better to Males. He's never bared his teeth at me yet, and I think he's smart enough not to try it, but he's 100% obsessed with trying to kill / bite my petrol lawn mower every time I start it !!
  11. Talking to a couple of folks who had lifted the tail, a couple of points they made were.... # The gearing sprocket sizes will effect how tight the chain is over the arm, smaller front (on mine) isnt great. # Raising the rear makes the soft front even more noticeable and it really needs to be looked at to firm it up. Neither are personal experience, just things i've bee told to keep an eye on. Maybe a 20mm bolt on lift would be the best of both worlds.
  12. Thats great ! Good and bad sides, its not a ten minute bolt on and its not easy to change your mind and return to stock, and cant swap between different height blocks. Looks much neater though, and I like it better than the blocks. I may still try raiser blocks and if im 100% happy get the arm done, and i'll keep my eye open for a spair arm, (mates braking a 14 to build a go-cart) Great pics and info...
  13. I hadn't thought of that... We used to take the "hero" bolts out of the foot pegs and put titanium bolts in (had a mate who "lost" a few at work) Similar to drilling holes in knee sliders and glueing in lighter flints... looks great around roundabouts at night !
  14. I thought about doing something similar (using the linkage) on the Hayabusa. It gets "real interesting" when cranked right over low with a pillion on, the guys chasing normaly back off... Im currently running without a steering damper, but I think raising the rear I may need to refit one.
  15. Well spotted ! They look just the job. Much better value too. Thanks Mate....
  16. Told you before Dave, There'll be a B-King, Beer and a Bed for you when you arrive.
  17. Nice Bacon sandwiches at the Cafe around Somerset Dam. My shout... No one ? Bugger ya then... Pic's are in the Pic/chat thread.
  18. Not really looked into it, but a quick seach came up with... Bought in AU. 295.00 AUD = 185.949 GBP Bought from the US. 250.00 USD = 154.775 GBP I should be able to find them cheaper I expect.
  19. Im still trying to get a half decent pic, these are this mornings "happy snapper" attempt... I'll keep trying...
  20. Not really to my taste (Hay! im honest!) We all have different likes / dislikes, ...but got to love having a 2nd bike, and got to love finding a bargain. It looks like a good example of its breed. Well done that man...
  21. These are the blocks that mount under the shocks on top of the swingarm and give the rear a good lift. I wasnt convinced at first but I know a couple of lads using them (hard) and they say they're fine. Might be the way to go when funds allow.
  22. Shorter pegs would help, as would spacer plates to move them back like fake rear-sets as used on the Bandits. Neither really fix the problem, as its still possible to touch down the side stand, engine mounts etc etc. For me, raising the rear is the way to go. They do spacer blocks that fit under the bottom shock mount, or just use longer shocks. This has the added advantage of giving a steeper steering head angle and making it steer a bit sharper / quicker. Most non-sportsbikes bikes tend to be on the safe / conservative side anyway. Im also going to go to a 190/55 tyre and not the normal 190/50, every little bit helps.
