  5. Yeah, been here 8 years and the Pommie in me still smiles when I see one. Loads where we were... Your a brave man to be riding fast out in the countryside at night though. I've had two VERY near miss's and it put the frightners on me !

  10. Dry and 21 degree's C here today, Not bad for the middle of Winter.
  11. I dont know what you lot moan about. I was in the UK for the last two weeks in May. Beautiful weather, only was rain one day and had heaps of sunny days. Mrs now thinks the UK has great summers..
  12. maveric, Stay safe, have fun, and I look forward to seeing a write of of you trip.
  13. Talking about big bikes... "they dont make a bike thats too big... height and strength are just poor substitutes for ability" Talking about Busa's and B-Kings being ugly... "Ali and Tyson didnt win beauty contests"

  15. I was recently told... "Good things come to those who wait... but crap is available right now, off the shelf, for immediate delivery !"
  16. Done a couple. Had a Mate keep an eye on me with the first one. He recon's a common drama is dropping a link / rivit pin etc down the cam chain tunnel into the bottom end... I keep everything well clear, and pack a rag into it when im joining them.
  17. Great pic's and write up. Top Job that Man... I traveled a bit and always felt sad going back to the UK, untill I realised.... Dont go home! ..
  18. Dubbo was 580+ miles from my house, an easy day ride with a pillion. Snapped my subframe mount off clowning about whilst down there though. Casino was good. Closer to home. We hired the airstrip for the weekend, and the campsite next door, took the fence down and set up our own bar.
  19. Not for me. Lots of folk like it and it suits them. I'm happy without it (ridden a few with) then again, Im getting the back-torque-limiter (slipper clutch) locked up / removed, and think the B-mode is a total waste of time. I like my bikes raw, minimal and simple, a challenge, something that makes me work hard and has plenty of feed back. Each to their own.
  20. ... yeah, I had to work it out. Idiot run's across the road, Guy with a BMW S1000RR grabs a handful (must have the ABS turned off ?) and it flips and pin's him down.
  21. Honda finally sorted its V4's out after what was a nightmare for them with the early models. I notice now Honda only use them for tourers and odd-ball dual-roll Soft-roaders. Some folk love their V4's but to me they're not a great idea. 2 pairs of barrels are heavier than one IL4. You need to run timing gear to both heads. More weight, more complication, more expence, more servicing. In racing you can get away with this by using lighter, more expensive, more fragile material. It all seems a hard way of doing things to me ?
  22. Great posts smilinjack .... I did France several times. Was never really impressed with the Ferrys, both the strapping bikes down, and the rought as f#ck crossing a few times. Did the tunnel last time. Was excellent. Have fun and post more reports/pics.
  23. .... and a couple of our weekends away...
