  1. If it had gone in at a very low angle then there is a chance that an internal "plug" would not be able to sit flat on the inside of the tyre.
  2. Had one on the Busa a couple of years back. Two can's of tyre weld/foam wouldnt fix it. Went flat instantly. Hole was too big. Bike came home on a tow truck. Had it profesionaly plugged from the inside. Used it for a couple of thousand K's, no problem.
  3. Looks good. Got a couple like that. As long as its not near the sidewall its fine. Someone must be getting plenty of free (repaired) tyres going by the ammount of folk I hear wont fix them !
  4. OK. They're cheese eating surrender monkeys who cant cook a steak properly. Thank you.
  5. No, its not from the Busa site, although it has a Busa engine.... I stopped going to the US Hayabusa site because of all the crap they posted about their wonderful army, then how a bike with a 6" stretched arm and a 250 rear tyre isnt noticeably different in the handling, then how lowering a Busa makes it handle better, then how its not safe and not very man-like not to carry a hand gun, then....... I'd gone.
  6. Out of interest, when it turns up check the date. There new and quite old tyres about. There should be a 4 digit number on the sidewall. First two are the week of the year, 01 to 52. Second two are the year. I just removed a Pilot Road 3 made 2511, The 25th week of 2011. The tyre I put on was dated 5110, 51st week of 2010. There are some quite old "new" tyres about. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=11
  7. I like Pilot Powers, Im VERY cautious of repairs done from the outside. To me they are strictly to get me home. However.... take the tyre off and plug it from the inside and all's good. I use the "penny on a stick" type plug where the big flat "patch" sits on the inside and you pull the thin stem out through the hole. They can not and will not come out. Had one on my Hayabusa, 1200 miles over a weekend with a pillion and several run's at the drags. Personal choice. Some wont, I will.
  8. The law that says "wear a helmet" is like the law that says stop at Red lights and drive on the same side of the road as everyone else, and wear a seat belt in your car. Its only there to protect dumb people, Smart folk will do it anyway. I wouldnt look to closely at the Seppo's, their driving rules seem about as smart as their gun laws.
  9. Now, just be be on the safe side, we're just talking about the gloves now ?
  10. Sounds like its all win / win then... dirtydog, your Mrs needs to meet mine, She paid for my 20 foot x 30 foot shed and understands that I need more bikes...
  11. 300 up..... I thought we were talking "kilometers per hour" ?
  12. Very nice. Tasty bit of gear....
  13. Must have been a good sleep, it 1.50pm !
  14. They did a naked/unfaired version. The Norton Rotary Classic.
  15. A Pommie friend who moved out here near me had a couple. The JPS roadbike his Mrs rode, now sold to a local museum. What he still has, is one of the actual race bikes that won the british F1 series in 1989. Id imagine after the fire at the Birmingham bike Museum it went up in value considerably. This was his Mrs bike....
  16. Thanks. Good advise, but I did it the slow / long / lazy / stupid person way. Removed the smashed clocks. Almost a week later..... Bike spin's over like crazy and fires up easy. Thats the electrical fault found.
  17. Dont worry, it doesnt do anything for me either...
  18. On my Wish-List.... sort of ! What I really want is the Z1R-TC (Turbo) but they are as rare as hen's teeth, different figures are used, but I think they actualy built less than 500 for Kawasaki, so I'd be happy to build a "fake" monster. http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2006/08/15/kawasaki-z1r-tc-turbo-motorcycle/ http://www.classicsportbikesforsale.com/rare-canadian-turbo-1979-kawasaki-z1rtc/

  20. Had a funny mix of bikes. B-King, BMW S1000RR, Chistian Phiffer F800, Old VF1000, Aprilia 1000, ZX9R, CBR600RR. Tried to sneak into the local Holden test track for a quick lap or two, It was closed, we got in, THEN we found out it was patroled by security....
  21. Was dry and very warm here, up at 4.30am to watch the MotoGP, then a quick scoot down the motorway to meet some friends. Got in about 200 miles and home by mid day.
