  1. Hello and Welcome. Another Bandit fan here. I've got a Mk1-12 sat waiting for some attention.
  2. Yeah, Alloy frame and swing arm. Lad delivered it today, with a box of spares. Not sure what to do with it yet, but an oil-cooled Bandit 12 motor will drop straight in if I can find one.
  3. Mate Andy in Kiddeminster just sold one similar model but dark green. All the front is engine bay, all the "boot" is fuel tank. No room behind the seat. Carried less than his bike, Handling is poor, Drink the fuel, Not as quick as most modern jap cars, Its a 4-wheeled Harley !
  4. Think of it as the new LED's needing less "electric" than traditional bulbs. They flash too fast because they're getting "too much" Fallen Angels resister would help them get the right amount. Sometimes you can change the relay to a more suitable one, Sometimes its easier to just put a seperate resister in-line.
  5. Excellent project, Looking good....
  6. Don't get me wrong. Im a HUGE fan of his and often sing his praise. If I could have one wish in Moto-GP, it would be for Rossi to win the Italian GP on a Ducati. I recon that would just about shut Italy down for the week !
  7. Were you thinking of a Gen1 Busa 99-07 or a Gen2 Busa / B-King front end ?
  8. I need another project like an Arab needs a sand pit, like an Eskimo needs a snowball, like a......etc etc etc.... So not quite sure why, but I just bought this ! 1986 GSXR1100 "Slabsider". 1st of the Oilcooled GSXR1100's. No engine (it went into a 7/11) but a big box of everything else. Not seen it yet, but it was VERY cheap and the guy is going to deliver it and the spares. Was going to break it up, but tempted to see what motors turn up in the near future.
  9. Not sure but im thinking its one of the later GSXR one's. I know there's one that fits straight onto the earlier non-radial front end 99-07 too. Its been done quite a few times and i've seen all the info on one of the Hayabusa forums.
  10. Not sure about the looks or price, but its a bit of biking history. The Vincent was a landmark for bikes, and anyone familiar with Fritz Egli's work would have it on their wish list. I've never been a huge fan of Honda's, but one of Mr Egli's 6-cylinder CBX1000's still makes me drooool !!!
  11. Yeah, Ben's done a few GSX14's. The Busa forks are really too short. He gets around this by making top yolks with a step in them. Lets you drop the forks down through the bottom yolk, and the top yolk steps down to hold them. Quite strong and work well.
  12. Welcome. Another B12 fan here too. Even having a Busa and B-King I still bought a Mk1 Bandit 1200. There's something about them that just good simple honest fun! I love how they are basic with so much feed back, so many modern bikes lack that.
  13. Been looking at GSX14's for years. Ridden lots but never owned one. One of our guys "Ben Shaw" has built a few, one had Radial braked Busa front end and a fat rear. Needs less "bling" but I like it.
  14. I like the XJR.... Of the retro styled bikes, the ZRX or GSX14 would be higher on my list but they are both discontinued models out here. The XJR is the last of the true big bore air-cooled, twin shock brutes....
  15. Stick the Mrs on a plane and meet her down there.
  16. "Tissot-Superpole today was cancelled after a fatal accident suffered by young Australian Superstock 600 rider Oscar McIntyre in a support race before the session was due to start" R.I.P Oscar.

    greetings

    G'day Mate, Welcome...
  18. Im a huge fan of Rossi's and would love to see him back on form with an A-grade bike.... ...but.... greatest ever ? He still quite a way off matching Giacomo Agostini's race history... ...and even Rossi thinks that Mike Hailwood is a step above. .....To win numerous GP's, Honda, MV then back to Honda, (including 12 wins at the IOM Mountain circuit) .....To turn to car's and get on the podium in F1, and get the George Cross medal for draging another burning driver to safety. .....Even after retireing due to injurys and being paid NOT to race for anyone else, he came out of retirement 11 years later to claim another IOM TT victory. Rossi say's he's his idol, and I can see why. Personaly i'd say Rossi has the best record of any rider still in Moto-GP's. Personaly I hope this is a good year for him...
  19. I understand the theory behind NOT useing WD40, but it works fine if its done regulary. I've put a squirt into the ignition barrels hundreds of times over the last 30+ years and have never had a drama. (along with seat locks, switch gear, sidestand switches, electrical connecters etc etc) Admittedly there may be more suitable stuff but WD40 works fine for me...
  20. Our road tax is quite a bit dearer than yours. Good thing is, it includes CTP. "Compulsary 3rd party insurance" Not cover for other vehicles/property but personal injury of others. The good thing is its legal to ride/drive with just this. So anyone with a licence can legaly ride/drive anything thats tax'd. This is also a bad thing. If an unemployed bum with no assets hits you, and hasnt taken out his own "third party property insurance" you have no hope of making a claim against him. Funny thing is, bike insurance drop's by half if you remove the rear peg's and pillion seat and register it as a single seat bike. (no pillion passenger at risk)
