  1. Uncle used to own the large house (was a hotel) in Habberley Valley. He also owned the little cottage hidden behind the rock next to it. Parents have just sold a farm at Franche, but still live at another farm near by, but they are down-sizing and slowing down a bit. We used to farm the fields between Franche and Low Habberley, and between Habberley Estate and Low Habberley. Funny sat in Brisbane remembering this...
  2. Well done Lee. "Won" a brand new $1300 exhaust for $500 + $20p&p last week. Had a few drama's with Paypal recently so was a bit unsure about it. Got an Email today to confirm its on its way... A while back A guy was selling a 1200 Bandit, 1 photo, poor discription, waaaay out West, and a week before Xmas!!! I put in a silly low bid and ended up with that one!
  3. Its good to see the Irish praise an English man....
  4. Small world. Lived in Kiddy 40 years. Lived in Habberley Valley, then High Habberley, then Stourbridge Road. Parents still live at Habberly and own another house at Hillside Drive. They sold my Grandparents farm at Trimpley this week.
  5. Never seen a set up close. Only found 2 pic's on their site. Hope to get them on next week, Got an "April Fools Run" coming up end of the month. At least 400 miles of Twistys to get to the pub on the Friday, a huuuuuuuuge loop around NSW via Russel Crow's pub and back to the pub on Saturday. Another 400 miles home on Sunday (April-1st) Our April Fools Run's are always REAL good. One year we went to Dubbo, NSW. Was over 950k's each way (590 miles?) Ended up doing well over 1200 miles that weekend on a naked bike with a pillion......
  6. That maybe a problem, I dont think there's any coin's left to toss...
  7. Bought the exhaust can's. Staintune can's are the only legal one's i've found, they normaly go for $1200/$1300 but there were a couple of set's on Ebay for $500. Couldnt resist ! Just waiting for them to turn up now. Not the best looking but the B-King has to stay legal, I need one bike that is http://www.staintune.com.au/exhausts/suzuki/Suzuki_B-King.htm Haven't looked at the GSX1400 yet. Its low mileage, full system, Power commander etc, but has had a drop on the left hand side. Not pretty but still go's OK im told. Not sure if my funds will stretch to it though.
  8. Hi Stevie, and Welcome. Where abouts in the "West Midlands" ? I was in Kidderminster for 40 years before I escaped. Back again in 8 weeks time. Any good bike meets ? I used to go the Enville Common at Kinver and the Springhill Pub in Wolverhampton, both great but gone now I think.
  9. Been hanging out for a cheap B-King exhaust and always wanted a crashed/repairable/project GSX1400. Bloody typical, now im all spent out I find both!! BUGGER!! Hate to miss out a bargain, but too many projects and a UK trip already booked. BUGGER!! . . . . . ...still, wont hurt to go have a look....
  10. He was a very very bad man, . . . . . ... but in his defence, He always slowed down for school zones !
  11. I thought this was a thread about Gary Glitter ! Wasn't he a "PDF-file" ........
  12. For those not familiar with it, the "Buell peg" mod is using a set of slightly modified buell footpegs as they dont come straight out, they step down, and sit lower. I've seen it done on Busa's and B-Kings but not sure what other models it would work on.
  13. Yes. Very popular with Busa and B-King owners. The mod suits B-Kings too as some folk struggle with leg room under the tank. Never tried it myself. Always wondered if you'd lose ground clearance ? Busa's have their limits anyway. Would you lose the sporty feel ? Would your boots touch the exhaust / sidestand ? A lot of folk do seem very happy with the Buell pegs, I suppose it would depend on the individual.
  14. Its all about finding a balance, and what fits one guy may not fit another. I had a pair of Hayabusa's. Loved them. ...but after 300 miles my shoulders ached, numb hands, pin's and kneedles. Regular. A while later I had a Naked Hayabusa with Renthals, and a B-King. Although neither have a tupperware fairing, Im now doing regular 500 to 600 mile days. I get normal aches and pain's, but I find the upright position suits me, and im happy to sit there all day. Pain..... No pain..... I know other guys who swear that you cant do distance or speed without a fairing. Other say that Cruisers rule for comfort. One's comfortable bike may not be anothers. Each to there own.
  15. I buy this sort of thing in the 3/4" drive and use a 3/4" to 1/2" adapter. You can get them in the "black" Impact sockets that the car guys use for hub nuts etc. Mine has had a real flogging from being used on an impact gun.
  16. Second week of Autumn here. Place was very quiet, poor weather must have put folk off.
  17. Had a great ride out yesterday. Woke this morning to hear rain. Rain stopped but was dull and overcast. Stayed local and just drove up the coast. Looking back at the Glasshouse Mountains from The Wild Horse Lookout. Moffat Beach. Dicky Beach. (went dark! but still warm / folk swimming)
  18. I'll have a think, but im with Grumpyowl, Not sure how relevant my stuff is to put on a calender that you look at for a month. If I can come up with something REAL good then I might be tempted.
  19. I find comfort is a "combination" thing. The relationship/positioning of the 3 contact points. Feet, arse, hands, and the bikes suspension, and a decent seat, and leg room, (crappy B-King! ) and wide/skinny tanks, and probabley a few things i've forgotten.
