Went visiting on my bike, (Oxford to Kent return) came back just before midday, raining, high levels of traffic on M25 - what made it scarey was the amount of last minute lane switching and motors cutting across late for turn offs. Easter Bank Holiday notorious - some drivers seemed frustrated, stressed and irritable, typical bank holiday I suppose. Next time going through London rather than a high speed mix it (feeling grateful to get home in one piece). -
Love Dogs - it was grateful just to be with its owner I suppose -
think it is 23.25pm tonight but glad you mentioned it otherwise i wouldn't have checked. -
much appreciated - it's not like a car is it, with a bike the distance is limited before you need a refil. -
haven't been out on the bike much lately (couple of long trips coming up) - how is the pertol situation in your area please?

there is a bar end mirror on jim's bike in the picture, put bar ends on mine, much better than the standard yam ones which aren't really sufficient to seen enough of what's coming up behind then when you fit extensions the image gets too blurred so bar ends are good except now i don't put the bike round the back of the house any more on account of difficult not to knock them going through the gate. can't win -
went to a coachworks not far from the ace cafe west london, just had it completely redone with more padding inside!! they did a smashing job, about £120, I had to hang around two or three hours though. I was finding that I was getting a numb bum on long trips, OK now.

it's mainly 900 fans - a heavy beast, most of them have a soft spot for 600s though no mods to mine, had the seat rebuilt for more comfort though, being an old 'un you understand. oxford grips for comfort too, oh yes fitted quite a lot of rubber washers to dumb down vibration.

its getting worse, must be the valve guides as compression is fine, using more oil - nuisance no problem with performance just the smoke issue, nothing like a two stoke but other motorcyclists I've been out with have commented. It's an xj 600 naked 1999, mechanic says he can sort it but it will take two weeks to do minimum as he is busy with other commitments, looks like I will have to leave it until Christmas as he suggests.

have you taken the oil rad off? Does the centre stand rest on anything when up, if not doesn't it bang about, mine did. Can't really think of any mods I'm afraid - think the pegs are probably Ok aren't they. engine and fins look good - like new -
road rage - so easy to escallate, not sure who was at fault originally but reacting makes it worse. Human nature to react though especially if the biker felt he had been put in danger, can understand the bikers actions if he was provoked as I've felt like that myself but done nothing as it happens.
