  1. hehe - yes think we all have
  2. Some of it too true been listening to a lot of multiple choice answerphones lately so it made me laugh, they need the rise taken out of them, awful things
  3. keeping my fingers crossed on the plumbing charges, got an insurance policy although that is invalidated if the annual service hasn't been kept up. Unfortunately the last service was 15 mths ago but so far nothing said on that front however won't fit the heat exchanger unless system is flushed so gone with them on that in the hope that they won't get stroppy on the small print with the parts, tense times. Power flush and device to collect clag = days work, not cheap. Still this should be the last time..... looks straightforward but know my limitations
  4. the plumber says;- ' it's your heat exchanger mate, ' thought it was going to be expensive on account of the noises it was making - the repair price came as a particular shock to the mrs
  5. with footman james, renewal this month, carole nash worth trying ?
  6. must remember to carry a rope or strap on the bike, lovely video.
  7. osram night racer lights 90% brighter than standard notice bikes more as a car driver when their lights (albeit on dip) are powerful in daylight conditions.
  8. what I wear over a leather jacklet - interesting comments Stue and ITCHY, glad I'm not alone Its a work jacket, noticed an engineer colleague wearing one and I could pick him out when he was at the other end of the high street so got myself similar - they are called hi viz contrast bomber jackets and OK maybe I look a bit of a turnip but who cares, it doesn't really matter. Black helmet incidentally.
  9. Does hi-viz really reduce accidents? People might see you, they might not but hi-viz screams ‘I don’t trust myself on this thing anymore’. there's something in this - I'm guilty all right
  10. don't bother watching it all, weird and the person taking the video laughing is infectious - quite funny, outcome is ok in the end incidentally despite cars rushing by
  11. like to meet you both - maybe something good has come out of the boiler going awol! Somewhere nice to eat sounds good - been going to that strange co-operative type cafe near the fountain, is it a charitable organisation to give young people jobs, prices are good but grub a bit questionable despite being delivered with big smiles and a friendly manner.
  12. if you are interested in mz's this video from lydden park (mz racing) is quite amusing
  13. young 'uns won't know MZ's too well but they were once quite common budget East German imports, phenomenal engineering feat to marry two 250 two stroke singles to make a twin.
  14. RE: thanks for sympathy with our lack of heat/hot water Devizes is a nice spot, tend to stop there in the vicinity of the water feature, for a break before cracking on in a sw direction on my summer outings, once got as far as lyme regis. often say to the mrs after, can't we move down that way, back comes the reply, 'i'm not moving any further from my mother' RE must be the weather causing it, mine went last month and 3 other peeps I know have had theirs go. certain comfort in not being alone - thanks, the winter must have been too much for it - 12 yrs old but a problem over those intervening years, something about it that seems to perplex local plumbers so after a load of wasted money we were forced to use 'glow worm' who wouldn't come round until we signed up for a years contract, been doing that ever since. very clever ploy - invent a complicated boiler nobody else can understand so only your own people can put it right.
  15. thanks - yep damp and chilly, enough of that on the bike.
  16. grrr and brrr even the dog has had enough (different dog) rang the emergency hotline friday - can't get an engineer to you until monday earliest
  17. good thinking - same sort of thing well done finding that clip - great stuff. Also agree that the bike sounds good, he must know what he's doing mechanically but... 182 girls were taken to bed using this bike ..well even it its half true!
  18. looks like a good day - shame not to hear the bikes
